Evgenia Medvedeva

Hi, so... I'm gonna be honest here. I kind of never liked Medvedeva when she was with Eteri, but now I love her, since she went to Brian. For me, she showed her character and her strength and determination to change the rules and keep skating and not give up on her skating career... and this is enough for me to like her

So, now that I have introduced myself... I really hope she does well next week!! I'm so nervous OMG

Hello, @kptciam - welcome to Evgenia's FF! We are all on the same boat - excited to see her, but super nervous!

Welcome to her fan fest. Post often. So I have to ask. What is your favorite Evgenia dress?

Welcome, post often :) I know you said you weren't much of a fan before, but do you have a favorite past program? Or favorite exhibition? Is there anything you'd like to see her skate to in terms of music or style?

OMG thanks! I feel so much pressure now with all these questions hahaha

First, I have to say that I'm quite against the "Eteri Tutberidze team" thing (sooooorry), so I was and I usually am very critical to every skater coming from there. Not because of the skaters, poor kids, but because of Eteri and "her skating idea". So, Evgenia's past is full of "I don't like this". But again, not because of her, but because of "what they made her do". Of course, I very much appreaciated her skills, but not "the package" that she was selling. But I liked her as a person.

Now I think I like the package as well :agree:

So, let's begin with your questions:

Again, I have to be honest here and I don't think I like her dresses. But it's not "her problem", I usually don't like "ladies" costumes, too shiny and "colory" for me. In this sense, I think my taste is quite different from the "average" skating fan, so that's that. I think the one I liked the most was the one she used at nationals this year, in her FS.

Not a favorite past program :rolleye: And I'm not a fan of exhibitions either (I prefer competitions!!!), so I don't really know what she did, but I remember her Sailormoon one.

In terms of music or style... I would like to see her skating to something that she really likes. Something that she feels involved with, invested. I want to see her on the ice, because I really think she is unique in her own way, and I want to be able to see and feel that! :luv17:

I know this season is her "transition" season, so I really hope she can find herself and we can enjoy her for the years to come. Then, maybe, I'll be able to reply to your questions "better".

I'm a little bit intrigued(?) why if she's in Russia we haven't had any content really. I think there was 1 pic with a fan but no news of where she's training, walking her dog, no "professional" opinions from other coaches on what they expect at the RCF... etc. It's really quiet

I mean it's great cause she doesn't need any added pressure, but still kind of wondering how so many ppl are cooperating? if that makes sense

The calm before the storm...

Totally agree with this! Even through the difficult transition period she has held her head up and done herself proud. She’s one of a kind!

A lot of people feel the same way you do, don't apologize! I think it's really great that Evgenia as a person and an athlete can make people root for her even if she wasn't/isn't their favorite type of skater. She's a really good and interesting person and her story is inspiring. I hope she gets to do all she wants to do in the future and I hope that people like you and others who feel the same way can continue to enjoy her journey and her skating more in the future :)
