First things first, happy birthday to Beatrice and happy anniversary to el henry 
I have this weird quirk, when I'm under severe stress and/or fatigue my left knee refuses to work. Like, it refuses to hold my weight and buckles. It doesn't hurt, but I do have to drag my left leg like a dead weight. Causes a lot of awkward situations with people that don't know me very well, no I'm not hurt, I don't need help, thank you, yes I'm limping but it's not a big deal. MRI scans showed nothing, apparently the problem is with the nerves running across my knees but I'll need to visit a specialist for an arthoscopy to know what the exact issue is. I have put that off for three years now because hell no I'm not going to spend a whole day at the hospital for an arthoscopy when most of the time I'm just doing fine.
Well, on Monday a very stressful situation occured (ongoing, I'm trying not to think about it too much because I don't need a mental breakdown) and as a direct result, my left knee is currently unusable. It's very annoying when you work in a building without elevators, thank goodness it's only two flights of stairs.
Something unrelated to my inexplicable knee problem: I need a haircut (my hair is getting too long for me to actually bother to blow-dry it) but I've postponed making an appointment with my hairdresser because WC comes first

So... Today I turned 29. It became some sort of tradition for me to post about it in this very thread, to share this with this community that was part of this past year, probably the best one yet. I started to live my dreams up instead of just having them in my head, I got the taste of live competitions, meeting GSers, fans, bought flags, got signatures - and got even more inspired & determined to live this dream more. It may sound stupid, but what FS did with my life this past year - people I met & talked with here or in person - pushed me to the decision to challenge myself and maybe find a new job; I understood that we have to realize the need of change first and the act, no one will do it for me.
Here to even better 30th year, hopefully finished & celebrated in Montreal Worlds next year in March

Oh gosh, Ichatdelune, good luck with that. There's this weird thing that runs in my family which is harmless as far as I know but very alarming to bystanders. I don't have it, but for reasons I am still trying to figure out, my hands shake like crazy when I'm the right combination of very excited and focusing intently, usually during presentations or the like. Then everyone thinks I'm nervous and doesn't believe me when I swear that I'm not, including doctors, who take it about as seriously as a papercut. (I'm not nervous. Really. I'm barely restraining myself from grinning from ear to ear and jumping up and down and shouting, "Everyone come watch my super-awesome presentation!") Bodies are weird.

Thanks so much All for wishes! I truly felt it during interview yesterday. I was nervous in the morning, but somehow it all faded while riding a bus - I am mostly happy that I did not let myself down mentally, like no shaking hands, stuttering voice or avoiding eye contact. Now it is all on their side to decide. Now, I can get back to my customized tissue paper flower crowns I'm making for Piper and Paul and Rika Kihira

At Pacific Coast Adult Sectionals Alysa Liu skated her SP as an exhibition and then an 80 year old woman did a dance exhibition (with her coach). I’m not sure what I was more impressed with- it was really inspiring.
And seriously, if I’m doing anything at 80 I’ll take it as a win!

Today I had to take my mind off constant re-hashing my interview and got into these tissue paper flower crowns project - first effect, tomorrow I am going to ATTACH leaves and trying to attach all of that to the wired base. Also waiting for special effects to arrive, bx it won't be only about flowers

I love the first paper roses for Piper and Paul(it reminds me of their slide with 'but I could've told you Vincent') best, but Kihira Rika's SP roses are also a sight to behold. I wish I had one-tenth of your crafting skills, my hands are terribly unskilled.
I managed to wreck my sleep schedule (woke up early, forgot morning meds, slept like a log during the whole afternoon) hence me being up at 6:40 am when nothing's on. And I'm failing at falling asleep, so here are some more tidbits from the English academy.
- I got reassigned to Ms. Annie's former seat, and one girl of 8 who was pretty close with her saw me peel off a paper name tag (made by a student, I assume) off the computer with horror in her eyes. I felt immensely guilty, and so far I have been dodging questions of "Why are you sitting in Ms. Annie's seat?" from the kids. I can't tell them "Sorry, kids, but Ms. Annie has suddenly decided to quit", can I?
- All the teachers are to have English names (to seem more, um, English-using), which is fine with me since I had one since I was 6. It's Sarah, and since Sarah, Plain and Tall is among the teaching material I used to joke to the kids that the book is about me (my height is about 169 cm, about 5 ft 6 for non-metric users, which may seem not that tall but the national average for women here is about 162 cm, about 5 ft 3 again for you non-metric using folks). I have stopped now since 1)nobody gets it and 2)a surprising number of kids don't know my (English) name is Sarah. Like, kiddos, I sign 'Sarah' on your worksheets when you're done. I do have terrible handwriting but

- Related to the English names: the manager is an Ellen, the newly-elevated regular teacher is a Kim (which is her surname actually, but well it does work), the new part-timer who started on last Wednesday decided to use Rose, the dude who works in the mornings is a Brian, I'm a Sarah, so far very Anglo. Then on Friday another part-timer who is on her tryout says "Natasha" when asked for her English name. The boss is like "Wow, that's a cool name, isn't it, kids? I should have an English name as cool as that.", and there I am silently commenting that technically Natasha is Russian. Not that there's anything wrong with her using Natasha, I was just not anticipating the short form of Natalia as an "English name". By the way, the boss liked my suggestion of Iris and might actually use it, on the condition that she remembers she made an English name.
- The kids get stamps after they finish their book for the day, and with those stamps they can 'buy' stuff like pencils with ridiculously adorable decorations made of rubber (they are technically erasers, but well nobody is going to use these for actually erasing stuff), gift certificates that are to be used online (worth 10,000 won, approx. $10), etc. The most 'expensive' item is a toy drone, worth 500 stamps. These two siblings, Dan and Esther, were determined to get the thing, and as their unofficial designated teacher I was cheering them on. Then Dan (the older one) took a break for the new semester (says he'll come back when it's summer break), and although little Esther (age 6) was doing her best on her own the thing was taken by another sibling team (two brothers) just last Thursday. I met Dan as I was going home two weeks ago and the first thing he asked me was "Is the drone taken?", for the sake of those sweet things the boss'll have to order a new one ASAP.
- My (pretty obvious) favourite student, Min, is now reading A Wrinkle In Time, recommended to the manager by yours truly. (No Stargirl
) When asked about her feelings on this new book, she said "It's kinda boring and confusing, but most books are in the beginning." I did my best to try to explain Einstein's relative theory and how time travel is supposed to work within the time limit of me not getting looks from the manager, hope she understood the gist of it and gets to appreciate that lovely book. She's a very bright young lady but she's not a math person, see. Quite like me in that aspect, math was my nemesis during my underage years. Min is quite like me in several ways, such as enjoying sour food (her favourite candy is Skittles Sour) and having a glass-half-empty outlook on things. Probably why I love her so
- New kid started last week, 12 and starting 7th grade, lived in NZ for a year and has a Kiwi accent (which I find cool). Unfortunately only the accent and not the hang of the language rubbed off on him, so far I have got here a failure to communicate. Have you ever encountered someone that is fluent in a language yet can't explain things in that language for their life? He's that someone, or maybe I'm just terrible at dealing with tweenage boys. I'll have to figure out how to deal with him either way, he's on the higher levels and since I'm now the second-most experienced teacher, the high-level kids usually are assigned to me. !Actually, all of these are for crown dedicated to Paul, inspired by his Vincent FD shirt with paint splatters effect
, Rika will get FS-inspired crown consisting of black/silver roses, violet ombre ones, solo silver ones with special effect of raindrops added. Piper's one will be from sunflowers, dark blue & golden roses with special effects of wired golden/copper stars attached (Paul's will have navy sequined stars attached to leaves).I just felt quite inspired lately, re-watching some programs, wish only that making these flowers from scratch, everything by hand, was not that time-consuming, but I wanted it to be fully done by me, from my heart. I hope all 3 will be next season in Europe to give them these crowns as a souvenir of these wonderful programs

Well...Just got the news, I made it to this new job. Once again I got the proof that good people are willing to give me the chance and trust when I deny myself them. Excited, but more confident at the same time. Wow, it's really happening!
