2019 World Championships Pairs Short Program

So far no team has gotten a number for their death spirals

Hmm I dunno they are new but I'm surprised how little I'm emotionally invested

I was just about to start a Death Spiral Level B counter ;)

Not sure how new but she looks very young! They competed at Olympics. EDIT - he competed with previous partner, so very new.

Did his legs start to get a little tangled in the death spiral?

When this happened, I was reminded of Edward Scissorhands’ hands, which probably doesn’t make any sense. Picture someone shoving a garden rake into a wood chipper.

Oh no, this is going to be a really long night. :slink:

He and Anna were much better. Shame they couldn't make it work. Though, she hurt that knee again this season and was off the ice for a long time, so maybe it wouldn't have worked out anyways.

Maybe we should have one  Martin Bidar competed with Anna Duskova though

Does anyone have a link to a working youtube live stream ? My ok.ru link, which I usually love, is choppy tonight.

Ghilardi/Ambrosini (ITA)

Tech: Crash on the 3Twist, far apart on the sbs 2A, low landing but fine on the throw 3F, a bit heavy on the lift but fairly done, good speed on the death spiral on Basic level, a bit unsecure in spots and could have better edges in the footwork sequence, quite out of sync on the first part of the sbs spins but got it back later

Pres: Good opening movements and slightly connected with the dramatic music, could work on edge quality throughout and have more difficult connections and steps

Score: TES 26.73, PCS 25.29, Total 52.20

I hope the Czechs aren't discouraged by that score because they really DO have potential. But I hope they fire whoever chose that music and go for a lighter approach. Hell, a funeral dirge would be a lighter approach. :drama:

No one in this group could hold the right death spiral positions enough revolutions to get more than basic level :( Hope for better death spirals after the zamboni break

I can only remember this as Pogo's music

sal ?

edit: lol dont mind that

Yeah, the on-screen box is fine. It's just the wacky colors and font size on the scoring page. It's super hard on the eyes.

That's 100% Japan, their scoring page is like that for all competitions. My guess is that it's more compatible with kanji with that... um, interesting design.

Oh, so THATS what excellent camera work/ real time video editing and playback review looks like...I had forgotten....:agree:

I have no idea whether it's better to only have audio for the Japanese ads

If y'all think this audience is sparse, you shoulda been at GPF during the junior ice dance programs! Lol ;( Anyway I am using the nice no commentary FSlive stream, which is already infinitely superior to CBC on a good day. PS the stadium will be absolutely PACKED during the last two groups of ladies and men's, and it's gonna be craaazy
