2019 World Championships Pairs Short Program

Anyone know if there's a particular costumer the Chinese pairs use? They always have great costumes. Sui's, in particular, is beautiful!
 
Some stats regarding throw jumps: S/H had the best distance (6.16m) and speed out of jump (19km/h) so far. However they share the same best height on their throw jump (1.03m) with Z/K and H/S.
 
Group 4 has my two favourites, Peng/Jin and Sasha and Mitya. Oh-oh-phelia and jazz your skates :pray: :hap10:
 
Wow Sui and Han brought it when it counted - still a bit generous in my opinion. The judges maybe want to give France a run for their money. Sui and Han were good but not as fluid or polished as I have seen in the past - this seems excessive hen again some of the lower rank teams got some prety good marks. they may have been a bit too generous and some team like MTM or or one of the other Russian teams makes an error and the judges may have not left much room for them whose quality elements might get unintentionally nosed out by some overall lesser teams. I guess we will see. But some of those marks seemed kidn of high.
 
That throw triple flip from Sui and Han was total brilliance. The height, the distance, the landing... all impeccable. The best one they've done this season.

No clue but it definitely felt Lisa McKinnon inspired. Whether its her design or just her influence I'm not sure.
 
Hello everyone :), watching from 3AM, it will be a rough second part of week to jiggle night wake-ups & work, but after watching Wenjing & Cong I know it is worth the effort, for such experiences.

I will probably write more complex impression post later, after SP, but let me say this - it seemed impossible for me to tear up before even music started yet Wenjing/Cong shattered that myth for me. Seeing the magnitude, spectrum of emotional engagement in their faces in starting pose made me experience watching them just so much stronger, seeing them after all these teams skating before made me realize how happy we are to witness such complexity in nuancing not only strong pair elements, but emotions, musicality, chemistry between two of them. It is never how obvious they are with things they show, but how strongly they engage within them, the power of something unspoken they give people watching them: a little gesture, Wenjing's expression, the sublime contrast between pause & movement in their presentation... Also, the level of maturity now they represent is enriching their skating & emoting so much. And they don't even need to make themselves 'cool', 'classical' or any particular label for a purpose - they are their own brand regardless of repetoire, goin better each season.

Interesting stats, but I still consider S/H to have a noticeably bigger throw than Z/K and H/S because of how ridiculously short Han is. Relative to his height, he throws Sui extremely high.

That makes it even more impressive imo. Han is much smaller than both of those men. The fact that he can throw Sui just as high is incredible. Sui is definitely the Empress, but Han is one of the best men in pairs despite of his perceived shortcomings.

S/H were just... wow. I stopped breathing before the toes but it was nicely done.

Thinking whether Sui/Han are dating or not reminds me of Vancouver where the two Chinese pairs on the podium were both couples
