2019 World Championships Ladies Free Skate

Satoko Miyahara (JPN)

Tech:

- Good 3S to open, confident
- Better snap in the 3Lz+3T, 3Lz maybe <
- Signature reverse rotation in the combo spin (Lvl 4)
- Great 3Lo with flourish kick
- Nice layover camel and catchfoot (Lvl 4)
- Could have more speed but very expressive footwork (Lvl 4)
- Solid 3F, maybe <
- Very strong 2A+3T
- Beautiful spiral and split jump in the choreo
- Walley into 3F+2T+2Lo with slight step-outon ending
- Good 2A to end the jumps
- Stunning layback spin to finish the program

Pres:

- Whew! That 2Lo was scary! Anyway, a little bit reserved but a focused performance from Miyahara today. Cleaner than she usually is on the jumps at least on first viewing, but not as much speed as I'm used to seeing. A refined performance with great musicality and choreography!

FS Score: 145.35, TES 75.18, PCS 70.17
Total Score: 215.95 (currently 1st)

Satoko’s free is my favorite ladies program this season, great to see her perform it so well!

ETA: I’m not usually one to criticize scores, but I think the PCS for Satoko was way too low in comparison to what some of the other ladies received.

Satoko is really an epitome of exquisite nuance hidden in every move...Her Tango interpretation is really special, like embracing the music in every move, not skating through it, not fighting it. Such sublime operating of pause and motion. She may have small jumps, but she projects big, these edges, fluidity, sophistication and complexity and top notch and no one will convince me otherwise.

There is no one in the world (with exception of Carolina Kostner) who skates like Satoko. She is just perfect beauty. I love her. I don't understand why the judges don't seem to reward her in the way they should. I am frankly puzzled.

PCS should be higher than that, but must say I'm little suprised her TES is as high a it is.

Satoko being too cute with Tamura:love:

Now...time to rise or die. Never know.
