2019 World Championships Ladies Free Skate

This was the best ladies event ever!!! All the ladies were fantastic! Some mistakes here and there, but for the beginning of the quad this was incredible. Worth the sleep deprivation!

Oh yes. Easily the best ladies field I've ever seen in my life. Worldwide talent off the charts.

I think what this competition proves is that it's about having the right coach for you at any given time. Clearly Lilbet is flourishing with Eteri. Zhenya wasn't any more and found a situation that's working better for her. Congrats to both and to both their coaches :agree:

I wouldn't call Zhenya's current situation "flourishing"

I don't think we should lose sight of the fact that Lizabet is happy in Moscow and to be back where she was before. She only went to Brian because she couldn't stay with Eteri. Maybe she and Eteri just work well together. (Or should I say Eteri's whole team)

Okay, now that it's over...

Kaori's finally gotten the PCS she deserves but Satoko's is an outrage and Japan, other host countries would have given Rika another 0.32 points in PCS in a heartbeat.

The judges aren’t all Japanese though.

A little surprised that the 4S wasn't called <, but this technical panel has been quite lenient in general. Still, congrats to Alina, Elizabet, and Evgenia!

Man...that's crazy to think that if Rika and Kaori hadn't slipped up on that one element each they'd be silver and bronze [emoji24][emoji24]

I wasn’t lying earlier on! This IS my Worlds!!! Zhenya back on the Worlds’ podium, Tursynbaeva gets silver, Russia is having a very successful competition. What’s not to like? :yahoo:

First world medal for Kazakhstan since Denis Ten. Congratulations.

Denis... :( I was so sad when they had a close up on the Kazakhstani flag during ice resurfacing during the Rhythm Dance. He had so much to give and I'm heartbroken he can't be here. :(

My only comment on PCS is isnt the whole point of having 2 scores so that one score is for technical content and the other is for artistry/graceful presentation? What is the point of having 2 technical based scores? Satoko doesn't get rewarded for her gracefulness and subtle details of her skating.

OK, Alina and Zhenya hugged and didn't kill each other, I couldn't wish for more :agree:

So happy for Alina, she fought hard and she's got the gold that got away last year. She's a tough cookie!

Wow Lilbet has gone from MEH to world class in mere months. I screamed when she landed that 4S, was it a bit under? Who the F cares, I'd say she deserves to have it pass.

Loved Zhenya, she did herself proud. I think she's proven RusFed were justified in sending her and she's shown she's on her way back up after so many had written her off. The bronze is a personal victory for her and Brian, I don't think they'll dwell on two Eteri students finishing ahead, it's about continuing to build Zhenya future career.

On the none medallists:

Really sad for Rika, she has it all she just needs to put it all together.

Loved Mariah's performance, it must be very hard to ignore the drama and just go out there and perform.

Same for Eunsoo, she fell but still, still a SB and keeping her head despite the situation.
