Agree about the ex. It‘s beautiful and fits her so well. I haven‘t even had time to comment on it because then that 4S shock happened. But I definitely like it.

This makes me mad. Honestly, we can‘t just not see Zhenya‘s very first 4S attempt. Also, Brian must be sitting at home in Toronto, looking at Zhenya and Yuzu with their crazy 4S and 4F attempts like: help me what are my kids doing when‘s the next plane to Japan to stop them?!!

I‘m still so confused, though as to when she‘d even have had the time to train it? Logically, she can‘t have. First there was Worlds and I doubt they were seriously practicing a quad in the lead-up, then the injury and her shows. When, Zhenya, when?? I don‘t believe she‘d just yolo a quad attempt, that would be way too dangerous. So, she must have attempted it before to try it here. I still can‘t believe it.

(Also, what exactly does the tweet say? Attempted, yes. But what does that mean? Did she fall? UR? Both??)
The tweets just said that the attempt was not landed. Idk if it was around

Well, that would be a bit too much if she‘d actually landed it at her first attempt. Not even Zhenya can do that lol. But it would definitely be interesting to see it, to judge how much exactly was missing. Whether it was << or <. Sadly, we probably won‘t.

But her trying it in a show... I don‘t know if it was a one-time thing, a spontaneous decision but if she actually starts to try it more often... I might be a bit more positive about her actually landing it one day. Go Zhenya!!

The shows are so good for Zhenya. She is a sponge that soaks up all the action around her. Last year I remember Misha Ge helping her with the Lutz edge. She is a great student. :)

On tapatalk they said that some Japanese blogs said that her attempt had a step-out, but that has not been confirmed yet. Omg guys. Step out sounds like either fully rotated or nearly rotated, maybe < ? Aaahhh I want to see a video. Why is FAOI so strict with filming?!?!?!?

She did WHAT!? No video yet!? I NEED TO SEE IT

Unfortunately, I don‘t think we‘re very likely to see it. Fantasy on Ice has very strict rules with filming. :sad4:

A step-out?? I saw some other sources say the attempt wasn‘t successful and she fell but idk what is true... Imagine in the end it was only a particularly big 3S and we‘re all freaking out over nothing.

No, seriously, for now I‘m sticking to the ”unsuccessful meaning fall” because I just can‘t believe anything else unless we have proof. This just sounds too impossible, landing a quad at her very first attempt with only a small step out...

Imo I have every belief in Zhenya that she will continue to improve and come back even stronger next season. She has every chance of making it to the Olympics too.

I dug up my reaction to her winning a bronze at Worlds, sort of reminded me how you can never count her out whatever the odds:

How did she do that?! The only two people who beat her was an Olympic Champion (Alina) and a lady who landed the first ever quad jump in senior ladies history (Libet). She also defeated a strong Japanese field IN JAPAN without the aid of Russian judges, scoring personal seasons bests in all 3 categories and winning her first ISU level medal since Skate Canada last October, all this while she was injured. Not trying to go overboard but wow she's Wonder Woman. [emoji123] (lol)

Amazing post Chris.

Zhenya will do all she can do to be all she can be.

Yeah, maybe she was going for a 3S3Lo and had a step out on the 3S, who knows:laugh:

I wonder what she'll jump in the finale tomorrow.

Actually, now that I‘m thinking about it, that seems the most logical. Maybe it was like the monster 3S she did at Skate Canada practice and was unable to control it and had a step-out.

I can easily see how people would mistake that for a quad attempt. Like, look at the height + distance. I guess the audience was like: Zhenya making a mistake on a Salchow? That can only be a quad!!! (I believe she has a 100% success rate on that 3S in competition, or at least I can‘t remember a single one she missed)

Idk, I‘d still very much like it to be an actual 4S attempt and I hope it was! We‘ll see if she tries another one soon.

I doubt Zhenya would just do a 3S in the finale. She has been doing 3Lutz+twizzles, 3Lz(tano)+3Lo etc. in the finales so far. She always choose a difficult jump.
