I have noticed lately that quite a few of Jeff's videos have been removed from Youtube. Some of his videos were from earlier championships and some were from shows. Does anyone know why a number are missing? I quite enjoyed the luxury of viewing Jeff's earlier programs on Youtube. It's very disappointing.

Yes, especially since most of them have approximately zero commercial value and deleting them on (presumably) IP grounds can only create ill will.

On the upside, Vanessa Gusmeroli's videos are back on Youtube!

Her LP performance at the 2000 Worlds was something I used to watch at least once a week. It disappeared for a long time and was finally uploaded again yesterday!

If you want to save a youtube video to play on your own machine, regardless of whether it is deleted off youtube, you can use

http://www.keepvid.com

Copy the URL from the youtube page

Paste it into the URL block on keepvid. Chose YouTube in the next box.
Hit Go.

Then click on the Download Link that will appear below the URL block.

Click on Save

It will ask you to save getvideo. Add .flv to the that. Pick Type of All files in the block below. Then hit save and it will download.

You will need to download flvplayer from the same site, if you have no other player that will play .flv files.

Or you could use a video converter like I do, to convert it from the Flash format to whatever format you like. I typically use Super converter to make them WMV files.

This is true, but every time you convert a file, you erode its quality a bit, and youtube files are often already a bit fuzzy-so mostly I don't do the conversion,
