And the winner for officially missing my points in two posts is.....
I JUMPED AND DANCED. This is not hard to see that I am not criticizing jumps, but it's also not going to hurt anyone to develop real skating skills along with them.
Thanks for the history lesson of my sport that I was a part of LOL!
Why has 'technical difficulty' in figure skating been restricted to jumps? Surely there are other ways of making the sport difficult too. We could reward those as well.

Hello, Mishaminion. Just official greetings from me. I like your commenting more and more, I say:yes:

Why use derogatory terms like "jump fanatics" then?
I jumped and danced too xDDD
I jumped until I was diagnosed with a couple of progressive genetic/hereditary conditions. I tried dance for awhile after that because I could not jump anymore, until my worsening mobility ended my ability to skate at all.
I firmly believe skaters should take every chance they have for success because you just don't know what might happen, and possibly never see your dreams come true.
I never did.
Because jump only fanatics DO exist. Otherwise this thread wouldn't exist period.
I'm sorry to hear about your condition, my hip is not what it used to be from all of the triples.
I don't know why a limitation is unfair, if it is applied to all skaters?
Or is this "the rule affects my favorite skater and therefore I don't like it"?![]()

It seems Trusova and Shcherbakova don't really need an SP quad and I'm not suggesting the rule is changed to allow them.
Just that the argument works both ways, for those saying anyone having quads is unfair and they get too much ot an advantage...it can be pointed out that they can't do them in the SP so that is not entirely true.
It lead me to wonder why they're not permitted despite the fact they are in the free, technically they have been for years.

I truly shake my head at what I see as the quad PCS bump. I have no problem at all with a lovely jump getting all the TES in the world, and PCS, if integrated into a program.
Why stop it there though? SS fanatics are increasing in number as well if not more. It is quite convenient to put this argument everywhere nowadays, even before watching the skate itself![]()

And all that because of quads.
