5th on a broken boot, it's good enough for me, I am also soared of tomorrow, but damm this woman will not go down without a fight
 
It looked like she had been crying before her skate. But she did it, she was magnificent. Her score is too low, but it keeps her in the running. Plus, she proved that she can skate in an adverse situation and rise to the occasion, that should have been worth 5 points.
I'm so proud of her.

But I'm still sad that she's only fifth. Of course I do care about the place. Was she underscored?
 
Maybe Zhenya will have new boots for tomorrow? Maybe they could fly it from Moscow in that time. And she can break them in tomorrow morning?

She's a fighter, and she will skate in the last group. I think that's a huge achievement in these circumstances. And she's the crowd's fave, so many banners and stuff. :clap:
I love how "flowy" this program is. And also those flowy parts on her costumes. :love:
 
Couldn't watch it yet so I'm not going to comment on the score but I'm relieved with the result, couldn't have asked for more. A fighter she is indeed.
 
Those judges can go to ......
They threw PCs and GOEs and Level 4s at everyone like candy (even when they had botched spins and StSq or obvious URs) but once Zhenya came out they decided to judge differently.


Zhenya is warrior Queen for skating on broken boots and not giving up! My Queen! Always!

Well, she was one of the only ones (the only?) who got lower PCS than she gets internationally. She did lose some points on spins and steps where it was visible that she was fighting hard with that boot, it looked like her foot was slipping around in it. She also got an UR. It wasn‘t her best performance. Her score’s probably fair for international standards but this is RusNats and basically everyone was overscored to the moons, so I was expecting 73 at least.

I‘m sad, too, because the way she skated it was clear she could have shown much more with good boots. And then she would have been right in the mix for the top 4. Right now, she‘s probably capped. She‘s a fighter but a FS is definitely different to a SP and it will be even more of a challenge.
 
Good point. Can’t shop in Moscow bring her boots? If I could I would personally drive from Moscow to give her new boots! As has been discussed, these boots are not like traditional boots and I’ve even heard from other skaters that they do not have a break in period.
 
Corruption in the scoring. From the top girls, she is the only one who did not get higher PCS points in comparison to international PCS scoring.
