Yeah, it seems to me Plyushchenko is neither fear inspiring nor awe inspiring for real as a coach and mentor to a 16 year old.
We’ll see, but I think the best cards were dealt by Mr Trusov so far.
A multiple Olympic medalist, a skater who went to four Olympic Games, a prodigy in his time - isn't awe-inspiring?

I don't think so.
Why? Because Plushenko knows everything about the jumps and he can teach them. I have seen many times on master classes and I read interviews, comments of other skaters. He said in interviews he teaches Mishin's method but he has some own ideas, too. We will see.
It's a little bit other aspect but maybe will help Sasha. Sergei Voronov's opinion:
"When you are next to an extraordinary person, and Plushenko is an extraordinary person, it's not just a compliment, you start to feel different. It's another atmosphere, another energy, another attitude. Strong competitors make you stronger."
Exactly. I saw Evgeni in a show a few years back and he had almost the same impact on me as Yuzuru. HUGE presence on ice. Also he was taught by Mr. ALEXEI MISHIN. There is probably nobody who knows more about teaching proper and sustainable technique than Mishin. So dare I say Plushenko knows A LOT about jumping. And since Sasha is a natural jumper, I don't think he's a bad choice for her at all. Together with Rozanov he can clean up her technique and stabilize all of her quads.
Where does the assumption come from that Sasha can't stand having the competition around? As far as I understand it, she was of the opinion that she and her training needs are not addressed individually enough.
There are a lot of ridiculous assumptions being made in this topic and it makes me really angry. When and where did anybody say that Sasha was removed from the team by her father and she had no say in it? Whoever said that Sasha caused problems because she wanted more attention? tutberidze? Why on earth would anybody believe it after what happened with Zhenya Medvedeva, how she trashed her in media like a child?
And even if such concern has been risen by her dad - what is wrong with it? Most elite skaters get individual attention and it is perfectly normal (Yuzu, Nathan, Rika... all have plenty private time with coaches) and Sasha is most certainly a unique girl, maybe one in a few generations. She deserves it and if she wasn't getting it who can blame her for looking elsewhere.
Honestly I also think this decision was very political but also thought through. Plushenko gets a top skater on whom (I presume) he'll focus most of his attention now, so when Sasha gets her first medal next season suddenly Plushy's school get's recognition. And Sasha gets her private coaching time like she supposedly wanted

I hope it will work out for her, she deserves it.
(...)
The risk is you will be judged on your failure far more harshly than on your successes, because you have little claim to these, she is ready made athlete after all, groundbreaking, record holder, destroyer of stereotypes, etc., all credit for this goes to #TeamTutberidzeForProgress.
(...).
I can already see the same exact scenario that happened with Zhenya:
She succeeds / wins gold -
it's because she was a tutberidze girl!!!!1 all credit to eteri!!!
She fails / falls / doesn't medal -
Plushenko is ruining her!!!1
Same old same old. Aleksandra should really stay away from social media like Trankov said.
Personally I think time will tell whether it was good or bad. I wish Sasha all the best, she seems like a lovely young lady and very determined to win which I like

there's two years to Beijing 2022, better leave now while there's still time to teach Aleksandra actual skating skills and some artistic feel and clean up her technique.
I wish Aliona K. would follow Rozanov as well.
