Let’s not dish out hate on here! I’ve been in too many arguments about things like this! Instead, why don’t we change the argument to something more interesting - what are Alina’s comeback chances now that Aliona AND Sasha both left TT?

Well, the upside is, there will be more attention and resources available to the ones that stayed. And the ones that left will hopefully also get what they need with Plush, so win-win.
I think Alina's chances were always and still are more up to her and what she wants from her skating. But since now there are only 3 other seniors (Anna, Lilbet, Morisi) in the group, hopefully that extra attention will pay off in the shape of a new jump

I think Alina isn’t really taking all of that too much into consideration, imo.
However, it does surely sound like something good rather bad for Alina, I’ll be honest. Less students (with transfer window closed) - more time and attention for Alina.

Hopefully, this will prove to be a better solution for all the girls and training camps: Aliona and Sasha getting to train with Plushenko and Rozanov, getting their undivided attention, and Team Tut having more time on their hands for their students too.

I would be interested if TT has already gained replacement for Rozanov.

That’s so childish. Let the person be a fan of whoever they say they are fans of. Alina didn’t leave Eteri, so it wasn’t necessary to have an Instagram account before, as there was no Alina drama going on.

I was kidding. I promise it was a joke! I have teased flanker in the past about his steadfast refusal to make an IG so I was just carrying on with it. (He finally caved!! I knew it would happen!)

I can see how that might not have been obvious to someone else. Especially since that conversation was ages ago. (I'm just happy flanker remembered.) Sometimes it is hard to keep in mind that you are posting to everyone on the forum not just the poster you are responding to. Also I admit it wasn't terribly funny. :

Or, maybe Yulia just grew up. Teenagers can be jerks under the most normal of circumstances. Being competitive athletes at the highest levels probably makes them crazy. I'm not an Eteri apologist, but I'm not naive enough to believe that Yulia was faultless in their "falling out." Being more mature now, Yulia might have come to realize as much.

Yes, probably.
I think with these "breakups" it's never just one side's fault. Both may say or do things in the middle of a stressful moment and later regret that it was done that way, when looking back.

I think that Julia has already become an adult and has become able to look at her past with a grin. I think she has a wonderful sense of humor.

I think this puts more pressure on Alina, to be honest. She’s the biggest star in Eteri’s group now and they’re going to want results. The pressure to win and battle with Sasha and Aliona will be huge for Alina and Anna.
I wonder if there will even be a season to see though.
Either way, I do think this adds pressure for the remaining Eteri girls.

Yulia can both agree with some of the things Eteri is saying, while simultaneously acknowledging that Eteri is being inappropriate. These are not mutually exclusive points of view. Personally, I don't think Eteri is being very professional in this situation at all. She's a grown woman coming at her teenage students (and former students) on social media like some attention seeking middle schooler. The optics are not great. Like, woman, learn how to handle private matters privately. That being said, I can also understand why she might feel hurt or wronged when these things happen. For the record, I do think Eteri Tutberidze is a great coach, (and also the Best Coach according to the indisputable, super-prestigious and highly regarded ISU Awards), but she also seems to be a major drama queen.

The smartest and most far-sighted girls, Anna and Alina, stay with Eteri, which makes me happy!

If it is smart or or not is yet to be seen. At this point we dont know if there will be a season and if there is how for example alina or anna will be doing, neither do we know how Sasha or aljona will be doing. It may be smart or it may not be smart

Eteri knows we want to know and she's willing to share her side Even if she didn't say anything at all, people would assume it's all her fault, so I don't think that would make a big difference in how the public perceive her.

As we don’t know the truth, we’re only talking about hypotheses, mine is that Pluschenko started to talk to Aliona when Sasha left, but Aliona probably said - let me give Eteri one last chance. Seeing things didn’t get better for whatever reason we don’t know, she finally decided to leave.

I don’t think Aliona would be dumb to “use” Eteri and let her believe she would stay, make fools of Eteri and Daniil by letting them make her programs and then leave. I think she had in her mind that she would try to stay with them, but knowing she had Pluschenko as a possibility if things didn’t work out with Eteri.

Pluschenko made an announcement that there were more transfers coming after Sasha switched. I had forgotten all about it. I think the deal with Aliona was 'done' but not 100% finalized. I agree that Aliona might have been undecided. Maybe she would have stayed with Team Tut if all things had been perfect at Novogorsk. Who knows?

As long as Aliona didn't break any Fed rules or violate any contracts she has the right to do whatever is in her best interests within the constraints of what the Rus Fed will allow. Eteri and Daniil are getting paid, and paid well, for every hour that they work. I am sorry for them. I'm sure it hurt like hell to lose her. I'm sure they feel like they put their heart and soul into Aliona and she just walked out. I get feeling betrayed. Things could have been handled differently but it's important to remember that she is just 16.

From a competitive Russian Ladies figure skater's perspective, Aliona has one shot at the Olympics. That shot is by no means guaranteed. She owes it to herself to do whatever it takes (within the confines of the rules) to maximize her chances to get there. If this is what it takes then this is what it takes. Also she has to look out for her own financial best interests. If it's true that Plushy can find her contracts and sponsors that she wouldn't get otherwise then she has every right to choose that option for herself. Most importantly it's her life. She can do what she wants with her skating journey. If she wasn't sure what that was until yesterday then that is how it is.

I'm just cringing at the idea of more internet mud-slinging at teenage athletes.

Talk badly? She made a point that both Yulia and Evgenia at one point asked for privileges and didn't get them, so why would they give them to Aliona now?

Thing is both yulia and zhenya left years ago, there was absolutely no reason at all to bring them up again, her team threw also shade on sasha when she left . I mean she could and should have just left them out of her statement . There was no reason to drag there names again init the open with her statement. She is basically acting like a child whose toy was taken away instead of an mature adult in her mid forties.at least thats how i see it.
