Preliminary entries: http://www.isufs.org/events/fsevent00010294.htm

USA's official entries as listed on USFS' International Assignments page as of 9/19 are: Bianca Butler/Joseph Jacobsen (4th in Lake Placid), Jessica Rose Paetsch/Jon Nuss (5th in Lake Placid) and Claire Davis/Nathan Miller (this will be their JGP debut) in pairs, and Pilar Bosley/John Corona in dance (bronze in Lake Placid). Rachael Flatt and Brandon Mroz (both won gold in Vienna) are likely to be the USA's top singles skaters assigned to Chemnitz.

This should be an exciting, competitive event in all disciplines!

In pairs from Russia the World Junior 2nd and 3rd place teams will also be competing. It will be a good pairs event with Butler/Jacobsen and Paetsch/Nus leading the way for the US.

Butler/Jacobsen had a horrible practice accident and had to cut back on their difficulty at Lake Placid. I hope they can skate to their potential in Germany.

And I hope that Paetsch/Nuss got all the bugs out of their skating. Their LP performances were the worst I've ever seen. They'll need a BIG improvement to get past the two Russian teams.

USFS published the rest of their Germany JGP assignments today (9/24) on their site. They are: Rachael Flatt and Blake Rosenthal (ladies), Brandon Mroz and Eliot Halverson (men), and Chock/Zuerlein (dance).

So, they are putting Halverson in Germany for a 2nd assignment. That kills any argument for the top 4 in a previous assignment to be given a 2nd one. Well, good luck to him. He can't possibly make the Final but it will be good experience. There will be no Dornbush or Kristie Musademba in Germany either.

I think they're saving Musademba and Gilles for Great Britain. They both have the potential to beat Nishino.

Alexe Gilles is competing at her second JGP this week, so it looks to be Kristine and Juliana.

 Congratz to Myrianne Sampson on her SP. I knew she had it in her, but i'm still surprised. It'll be interesting to see how she holds up in the long.

I'm impressed by Suizu - I saw a video of her performance at JW last year, which was really pleasant, so I'm super happy for her! That's the highest SP score this year so far.

The fields are really deep in this JGP - so many ladies, dance and pairs team are in the hunt for medals.

I wonder what happen to Rachael. It does not appear that she fell.

I was really impressed by Suizu's skating at the international counter match. Wonderful speed, flow, and confidence.:rock::rock:

Poor Rachael. I haven't seen it but I would think she just went flat in performance. She's nine points behind - not easy to catch a main competitor.
Joe

Well, Rachael is only 3 points behind her SP score at JGP Vienna. In that competition, she was 6 points behind Musademba in the SP, and then won with 17 points to spare overall. Similarly at Liberty Open back in the summer, she was behind Ashley Wagner in the short, and then won by a long stretch in the LP. So I think she can easily make up the difference this time too. She has much harder technical content than her peers. She just has to make sure to skate the LP clean.

Brandon Mroz (in 4th) reportedly skated a clean SP yesterday, while Eliot Halverson (in 7th) fell on his lutz combo, I heard.

Unofficial Pairs SP results from today:
1. Bazarova/Larionov RUS 51.33
2. Paetsch/Nuss USA 50.19
3. Krasilnikova/Bezmaternikh RUS 49.34
4. Lawrence/Sweigers CAN 47.58
5. Takahashi/Tran JPN 43.56
6. Butler/Jacobsen USA 43.48
7. Jones/Jackson CAN 43.23
8. ?
9. ?
10. Davis/Miller USA 37.75
11. ?

Don't have the placements for MacCuish/Evans CAN, Novik/Medovikov RUS, Hollerova/Safranek CZE.
