For the first time in 4 years I am starting to think about if I want to watch RussNats at all. All this disgusting discussions both on internet forums and in the Russian public media is awful, and I would dare to say that affects the skaters just as much as the pandemic. If after every competion we have to see Pluschenko imploding on the media, then no, thanks..... This is what destroys the sport even more than all of the student transfers.

I'm happy for all the top 3 skaters, so early in the season and hardly making a mistake. The scores might not reflect it, but what Liza produced should fill her with so much confidence.

1) Beautiful one-handed Bielmann which looked much more comfortable than in the past.
2) Smaller circle into the 3A
3) 3Lz with tano and not perfectly landed, but still got the 3T (even though UR).
4) Really good step sequence which will get level 4s in the future.

One has to be thick-skinned (when this is the evening of czech-pardon me, matian sayings, we say "to have a hippo's skin") to watch figure skating and the russian especially. But there is always a variant to watch and read nothing.

The girls deserve the attention, not such comments.

Along with the publication in IG of the circus man this is the most absurd thing of the day ... for those who are not yet aware, the circus man never wanted to take Rozanov to his school for the rich, who he wanted to take was Dudakov, the difference is that he is loyal.
Since you are from Serbia, I am sending you this song:

@Tolstoj I really don't get your lament. You have a lot of opinions, and that is fine, but I don't see any substance in your accusations.

Let's break down Anna and Liza's scores today. First of all, let's get rid of the bonuses as they are not important, and there won't be any bonuses in international competitions or at Russian Nationals.

Anna 75.47
Liza 75.36
Just +0,11 in Anna's favour and that's nothing.

Jumps:
Liza beat Anna on all three jumping passes despite having a < on the 3T.
Liza +6.99 - seven points is a lot and +5.75 is Liza's advantage for the 3A.

Spins and steps:
Liza lost a few levels, but that's nothing new, we know this.
Anna +4.42

PCS:
Liza has never been known for her great PCS but she did good today.
Anna +2.68 (not that much really, one could argue that Anna should be more ahead)

Total difference +0.11 to Anna.

So where specifically is the unfair judging? Personally, I don't see any "scandal" here.

And btw, Nugumanova got one Bonus for her last spin (not that it matters) and Usacheva got a ! call on her Lutz.

1) In you analysis you completely omitted that Shcherbakova's combo was a 3ltze-2lo with a 2 footed landing. That is:

- lower in bv than a 3-3 (even underrotated) as it is only 3-2.
- should get very negative GOE for the completely botched landing.
- there is an incorrect inside edge on the lutz, which also lower the Base Value AND also influence negatively GOE.

Seriously a clean 3ltz-3t with fall would be less damaging than this.

Here's what she got instead in the protocols:

- No edge call on the lutz

- somehow very lenient GOE with even a 0 for such a glaring mistake. Seriously, if judging was fair here, it should have been at least a -4, plus the lower bv because of the edge call and the doubled loop.

So the difference in scores when it comes to jumps should have been much higher actually!

We could discuss a lot about the steps sequence levels too, in regards to contents, size of the pattern, number and clarity of the turns cause they make zero sense what they called here. In my book Liza's stsq was level 3, and perhaps Anna's too.

2) Usacheva got an ! as you said (which should have also been an e), but please look at the double standards here:

- Usacheva getting an ! -> still positive GOE. (all +1 and one 0)

- Gulyakova getting an ! -> negative GOE (0, -1 and -2)

Hahaha, I just remembered that in many Russian sites and Russian forums people call Shcherbakova "the mushroom fairy" or "the little mushroom fairy". When I first saw the term "mushroom skater" was about Anna too. Because she receives mushrooms instead of carrots. :)

I hope Tuktik wins tomorrow. She deserves it. She also paid attention to so many things and polished this amazing musical piece after test skates. Her program, dress, expressions, and sincere mature performance was miles away from others. To be honest, she should have been 2nd. Her interpretation truly moves me and goes beyond than dancing with some random ballerina arm movements. Wishing good luck to everyone, but hoping that Liza wins tomorrow big!!!

Just caught up with the ladies.

Liza‘s score was fair, imo. She had a slight stumble in the step sequence and her spins aren‘t too good. Her combo did look UR to me but well done on upgrading to a lutz-toe!! I‘m sure she‘ll get it next time. Also, I really liked her performance today, I haven’t seen her look as confident and comfortable in a long time! I’m normally not a fan of her artistry but today she impressed me. Great stuff.

Anna. Aw, it’s so sad to see her this disappointed. She’s such a perfectionist, so of course she’s not happy. But she’ll come back in the FS and win the whole thing easily. There is just one thing that needs to be said: Girl is a fighter. Even after the messed up combo; she didn‘t give up and tried her best to get all the other points on spins and steps. It takes a lot of mental strength, so well done to her! But her score is just... not right. And it wouldn’t be right even without the spin bonuses, they have nothing to do with that. How did she get a 77 (75) with a 3Lz!+2Lo<? And higher PCS than her virtually clean program at the last cup? Makes zero sense to me. Especially since she was much more labored than last time. I‘ve noticed it at the first competition too, she really needs to work on her speed. At the end of the program she‘s just so... slow that even her musicality can‘t help. So, yeah, frankly, it‘s ridiculous. But she‘s a fighter and she‘ll come back and easily win tomorrow, so no harm done with that mistake.

Daria.. first off, WHAT IS THAT MAKE UP. I‘m sorry but it‘s just... bad. Who on earth had the idea to use that dark of a contouring on her nose? She‘s still a kid (it wouldn’t even look good on an adult but on a 14 year old it’s even worse) and this look makes her look 10 years older! Not a fan.

Other than that, though: WOW! She‘s really, really improved her consistency this season. Third clean program in a row, well done! Her score feels relatively fair to me, too (for a National competition, at least) and they finally called her lutz edge. However, compared to Anna, her score feels off again. She had a clean program, with better speed and skating skills and yet she finishes only about one point above Anna? Nope, nope, nope. Again, neither Daria‘s, nor Liza‘s scores are wrong in any way. It‘s Anna‘s who doesn‘t fit in (though not her fault, obviously). The way her 2A looks, imo, makes it clear that the 3A is not far off. It wouldn‘t even surprise if she pulled a Kostornaia and landed one in the FS!

I like Sofia and I do like this program. Today I missed a little energy and also... not a fan of the dress, I prefer her test skates look. Shame on the lutz step out I did see a flat edge instead of her usual flutz, so good for her!

Guliakova was beautiful and solid. I like the way her jumps look. But there‘s not a lot that makes her special, yet, unfortunately. Love the dress, though.

Sadly, I couldn‘t find a video of Nugumanova, if anyone has one and would like to share, I‘d be grateful! Also, it will be interesting to find out whether as excellent a spinner as Elizaveta got any spin bonuses. ;)

All in all, a nice competition with better scoring than usually. I’m pretty confident Anna will get her second gold tomorrow. Nobody else jumps any quads and Liza is held down by her other elements. The question, probably, is between Daria and Liza for silver. I do think Daria has the upper hand, though, just based on how the scoring went today.

Just now Kolyada won over Mozalev with weaker tech and more mistakes and I guess nobody sees it as a conspiracy. So calm down everybody.

I don't think the comparison is all that fair though, Kolyada is better than Mozalev in pretty much everything: jumping technique, skating, spins.

Mozalev has more difficulty and did beat Kolyada on the TES, i think he will get the marks over time with more experience (this was his debut as senior skater) and more polished programs.

Kolyada is coached by the ex former coach of the circus man, that's why they will never say anything ... but if it had been one of Tutberidze's skaters at the junior level they would already be screaming fraud and calling for the immediate resignation of the federation president. ..

Kolyada should not have won therefore, although yesterday he took more than 11 points from Mozalev, today the difference in free skate should have been more than the 2 points that Mozalev finally had against Kolyada. Mind you, Mozalev skated clean should have won unless Kolyada skates just as clean, a mistake of Kolyada and goodbye gold.
