(Videos) New Season and New Programs!

I absolutely loved S&S's short program! Ingo's choreography is awesome. I really like the spread eagles out of the triple toes and the exit out of the lift. I think their death spiral looks better. Oh and Aliona really rocked that step sequence!
 
WELL DONE Brian Joubert! :agree:

He has so improved on his artistic side.
I would like to see other skaters working so hard on his weaks.

I´m tired of all this bla bla bla, that Brian is not an artist.
Figure skating is a sport too, and other skaters doesn´t improve on their technic like Brian did this on his presantation!

Savchenko and Szolkowy's short program-- blech. I usually really like them, but I think this one is a miss. :disagree:
 
Susanna's SP looks great! Nice dress, beautiful choreography, solid skating, very enjoyable. :clap:

:p You don't have to be Morozov to notice that flailing arms can up your PCS scores and win you a gold medal at worlds (e.g. Ando), and thus choreograph accordingly. Besides, Morozov's schedule would be impossible if every competitive skater with arm-flailing choreography worked with him, as you are suggesting, Joe. :laugh:

Kiira choreographer is listed is Nelli Petanen.

Then she's copying the Morozov style. I don't think the judges will buy the style much longer.

K&S's Lp looks so slow, and S&S's looks even slower ! I know it's only the beginning of the season, but eh, I'm surprised considering their coaches. Pang and Tong have the nicest choreography of the three IMHO, but her posture is the worst of the bunch.
 
Gotta Love Poykio. Great use of her body, while the edging and ice coverage is the best in the world. Lovely, well-choreograph program that is complete, and not like the same - o - same - o lemme get the most points possible technical program.

I really do hope she gets the PCS points she deserves. Honestly, I don't understand how skaters like Nakano, Meissner, Ando can get higher PCS points. Oh well, it is a new season!
 
I think some Russian did Kiira's sp. Maybe it was someone named Vassilevski...? I can't quite remember.

I can't help but think of Suguri's program from 2006 when watching Pokyio's SP. Other than that, the music cuts in the second half don't work well. Better than her SP last season though.

I'm liking Buttle's skating more and more. I hope he gets the axel back soon. Great artists without 3axels and quads often get hosed in PCS (Jahnke fan speaking here).

That's my boy!!!! Did you notice the standup back outside spin before the program where he placed the free leg in a low arabesque position? That is sooooo dificult. Quads come and go but body language is limited to a few.

Jeffrey should be a top contender this year, but imo, PCS scores without the quad(s) will not be honored. I agree with the hosing.

Well this scoring system is not that different from the old scoring system. The skaters who had the high technical content scores just don't drop down enough to reflect their lack of artistic impression.
 
Thanks for the vids! Kurt Browning did all of Joubert's programs for the upcoming season... there's a French newsclip of them working on this SP here:

Thanks Teenes - It's obvious that Kurt has given Brian the magic he needed after all those changes of choreographers and coaches failed including Yagudin.

Will it be enough to win? Let's see.
