Plushenko: "What is happening is absurd."

The part of his published interview about bribery sounded more like a conjecture and the wink-wink, nudge-nudge that went too far. The first part of the interview was more balanced and based on the discussions he had after the SP. tbh, I am surprised that FS as a whole looks down on the request to review the technical calls. It shouldn’t be such a big deal.

Last thing I heard it was Trusova (or her dad lol) who wanted to go back to Eteri. Now it‘s Kostornaya? Okay, call me next week when it will be Zhilina. And the week after that - Rozanov and Plushenko themselves begging on “Crystal Dome‘s“ (another lol for that name) doorstep. Unless there’s anything concrete, it‘s just baseless rumours.

Also was does this thing about Medvedeva even mean? Released from what/where? Where should she go? Back to Canada? No way, unless she plans to stay there and has given up on shows/international competitions. They‘d ruin her image/reputation even more than they did last time. She‘ll stay there until the end of her careee and earn some good money when she retires. God knows she‘s earned it after all she went through.

As for Plushenko: The problem with this guy is that he has a legitimate point. The selective scoring happening in Russia right now (and, as a reflection, in international competitions, too, though still to a lesser degree) is taken to such a degree it‘s almost ridiculous. It‘s always been like this but in recent years it‘s gone overboard. But the way he goes about it makes it impossible to take him seriously. He‘s ruining his own skaters‘ chances with his scandalous behavior and ultimately, he will change nothing.

Unless he has concrete proof of bribery, it‘s completely foolish to make such accusations. It‘s good someone‘s not blind to what‘s going on right now. It‘s not good when this someone makes a fool of himself and ruins any future credible attempt to expose the problems.
Released from Eteri’s clutches, who’s clearly holding her as a hostage, lmao.

She’s *probably* not leaving not because she’s scared, because there’s no point in that anymore, realistically.

With all due respect to Mishin, his passivity when Liza T. was unfairly deprived of the opportunity to compete at Worlds was extremely disappointing.
Er... I’d say if there’s a game to play with the federation, I’d think Mishin would be a pro at playing it. Yagudin didn’t win a single Russian national title after all.

They should be reviewed, there’s nothing wrong with that request. But I’m afraid that all of this is just big words in the press, which won’t end up going further than the interview and some IG posts.

If he legitimately goes for it (as he indicated he plans to talk to Lakernik personally), shiz, he’ll be in the right 100%.

But IF this is just media thing, it’s not going to do any good to his skaters. Well, he probably realizes that.

Or perhaps that's because Plushy was just better than him at those competitions?

People do realise Plushy was actually an extremely talented skater right? He didn't just walk onto the ice, do a bunny hop and win.

Besides Yagudin doesn't care who's Russian National Champion 😜

In the interview he states that he had already had one meeting and is setting up another one to recieve clarification on the flip call—given that Trusova recieved another one in the Free as well, it actually feels like a wise thing to do.

Let’s see if this indeed goes somewhere! Hope them videos will be published.

I'm a Plushenko fan but to be honest I think that interview shouldn't be made after nationals ...
Do I believe that there is some bribery in judges? of course I do... in every sport there is cases.. if trusova got the gold and he had gave this interview everyone would believe him .. but because she didn't ...it looks like that he is being a bad looser. Kamila and Ana were better because they have the same technic with better lines.... even if I'm not a fan of kamila .. that skate outshine trusova
And I believe it's easier for the judges give goes to eteri's skaters because they normally don't miss .. and that is more important than having 3 or 4 quads in a competition

Plushenko is sabotaging his own skaters.
I agree. Watching Sasha skate at the Russian Championships, I see no improvement in her skating. She still has those terrible long set ups into her jumps and her artistry has not improved. I think the Gold and Silver medal winners were far superior. Plushenko comes across as a sore loser. Even when he was competing he whined how he was robbed.

As I said before, there definitely are cases where he can be right, but there definitely are also cases where his skaters benefited and he (surprisingly) didn't say anything. If he would truly want just more precise scoring, he shouldn't push himself into a position of pure victim and make it "me the rightful against everyone else" thing.
I think he benefited too when he was competing.

That's the other thing. Esp. in the 6.0 era. Again, that doesn't mean that wrong judging shouldn't be called, but he's cutting the branch he's sitting on if he victimizes himself exclusively.

Yeah well I think Sasha was amazing at Nats and I love her style of skating. The GOE on her incredible quad Lutz, triple toe was laughable. Kamila does a 4T-2T with her ankle practically collapsing between the two jumps.

Plushy WAS robbed in the SP at Vancouver, a judge there placed his skating skills in 22nd place, 22nd? Please watch the skaters who placed 22, 23 and 24 at that event and tell me how that is even possible.

There was a concerted effort to make Plushy the evil Russian, with no artistry and it stuck, with people heaping scorn on his arm movements.

Well plenty of people go on about how in photographic stills of her program Kamila is beautifully posed right to get fingertips. You know who else has similar photos? Plushy. He's arm movements are absolutely exquisite. He studied ballet for years, he's not some hack who doesn't know artistry from a hole in the ground.

I bet if it was any other coach calling this BS out you'd be on your feet cheering. But because it's Plushy he should sit down and shut up.

No.

Maybe if Eteri used her power and influence as ISU Best Coach to address this issue is have a little more respect for her.

Yeah because Plushenko could never have been scored fairly, he's the worst "champion" ever seen. Everything was handed to him on a silver platter and he was never the best, never anything special.

If only skating has be judged fairly all along! Then we'd never had to have been subjected to this terrible, talentless hack.

I wonder how his parents ever managed to bribe the judges when they could barely feed themselves.

An unsolvable mystery I guess.

Trusova is being judged by the a different standard. However, claims of bribery are unnecessary and unlikely. It just comes down to federation politics. They are just supporting the coach that brings them results. Plushenko has both been hurt by, and benefitted from politics in the past. He should understand this, and figure out a better way to deal with it than claims of bribery.

I agree with this comment. When you put a number on art, you will always have a difference of opinion. Back in the day, they would throw out the high and low number to "Avoid" such problems but, the judges will always find a way around it. I have seen Plushy skate up close and he is truly gifted. I wouldn't be surprised if there are judges who are afraid to give his skaters a bad mark knowing all that he has accomplished.

With his accomplishments, I wouldn't be surprised if certain judges aren't asked back next year.

You completely missed my point. I have always liked Sasha and enjoyed her skating. She is feisty and fights for it. But to me she is not skating better and is that not the point of switching coaches? And I don't care who is saying this. Whoever makes such accusations, best come up with some facts.
