That would be great, but it is extremely unlikely. If she rotates all her jumps (which she has never done before in any senior competition), she would definitely score well. Karen is a beautiful skater. However, the more likely scenario where Karen will score better is if there is generous technical calling. 2019 Worlds had a very lax technical caller, if Worlds happens this year and the technical panel doesn't do their jobs properly that would definitely benefit Karen. However, it would also benefit Anna S., Satoko, Young You, and several other skaters. So, I am not sure it would be a net benefit for the US in their search for 3 spots.
Anyway, I just hope this whole thing motivates Amber to do even better next year. Right now, Bradie and Alysa are the definite favorites for the 2 spots that the USA is likely to have next year. However, if Amber can continue her improvement and she begins landing her 3A in competition, she could play spoiler. She has a lot of the same qualities that make Kaori S. such a popular skater. Speed jumps that seem effortless and full of abandon. But, she is more musical than Kaori and has better upper-body control. She could really score well if she learns control in competition and gets a 3A. I hope Mariah and Karen are also motivated to keep improving.
