If foreign travelers are required to quarantine there is no plan in place. So, yes. It could end up being cancelled.Cancel again? At this point? They already paid the singers.

Best reason ever - and I'm sure some have used these exact words at the ISU!They already paid the singers.

If your skating idol is Liza, 2 things are true: you are intelligent, and you are going places.Sport-Express article about Latushkina. https://www.sport-express.ru/figure...om-katanii-pochemu-u-nee-net-trenera-1755501/
Maybe her idol Liza can coach her. Liza legacy can go on.Very impressive! I hope she can get a coach soon.
I'd say that the only reason she was the "middle child" is because of her two major injuries in a row; in late 2016(missing nationals) as well as 2017 summer(missing JGP season). Otherwise, she had the better quad in comparison to Trusova and of course was superior in artistry. The FS she would have had for the 17-18 season would also have been something else.I'm pretty sure Kamila is RusFeds Olympic bet, she received a lot of publicity and gets big scores in national competitions (though in junior comps she too was highly regarded by the judges). Other juniors do not come close to her skills. Meanwhile for a long time, Anna was the "middle child"-at first Sasha was considered the new big thing with quads, later Aliona got her 3A. Only this season Anna finally settled her position of Russia's #1. And if she wins Worlds, that will give her a significant advantage for next season score wise.
Currently there are tennis tournaments (Australian Open, ATP Cup just finished), there was handball world championship, there are skiing competitions (some of them is Sweden), and if ISU was able to organize speed skating competitions (world cup in january, world championships are just about to start, there are short track events), then why figure skating should be halted.Yes, I read the protocols that the ISU setup for World's and I found them less than confidence building. It really doesn't look like enough time has been put into arranging the event in a safe manner, and if travelers need to quarantine I think there only option will be to cancel because they have nothing in place to deal with that scenario. I should discuss this in a separate thread but World's definitely isn'tguaranteed to happen.
Considering Anna can already do 3 quads in a FS and Kamila can do 2 quads and a triple axel in a FS (and already has a more stable 3A than Sasha right now), I don't think her closest rivals would be capped at 1 quad and 1 3A.. Obviously rules don't allow that right now but judging by what her closest competitors can do already do, regardless everyone would upgrade to adjust to those new rules. Eteri's camp in particular seems to always use the current rules to their advantageThe current set of rules is clearly not to her benefit. It caps her jumping in the short, allowing only 3A, which is the hardest jump for her.
Thus it gives advantage to Rika, Kamila, Aliona and others.
I really wonder how things would look if quads were allowed in SP, say, next cycle? Because I think it might turn things around for Sasha. She’d be able to jump reliable quads like her 4Lz and 4T, while her closest rivals probably will only do 1 quad and 1 3A. So it will give her a very big tes advantage.
Although Anna will probably do 2 quads as well then.
So who will be at the Russian Cup except for Alena and Liza?
Are Anna, Sasha and Kamila supposed to show up? If Kamila does, that would be the last we see of her this season, if not this show was already it?
You could say the same thing about Evgenia and Alina though.I just have to say that I feel a bit bad for Anna. She literally had to win RC 2-3 times in row and have a great senior season to get the PCS that she's at right now meanwhile the juniors are getting it pretty easily and Kamila has even overtaken her in PCS (internally ofc)
True but it hurts the others even more. It hurts Aliona the most.If anyone can handle it it's Anna. The battles between her and KV will be very interesting and probably very close.
I hope Anna does not skate in the Russian Cup Final that she rests up and get stronger for the world championships. If she loses to KV in the Russian Cup final which is possible then that could hurt her going into Worlds.
It would be ridiculous and plain stupid to cancel Worlds again. That's 2 years in a row. That's just unacceptable. The other sports like tennis and football have been back to schedule for months now but somehow ISU is still stuck in March 2020 and Covid hysteria was at its peak. European football competitions like CL and EL are being played all over Europe. US Open and French Open were played last season. So what then is the holdup? If Sweden can't do it without making skaters jump through hoops to compete then give it to Russia or some other country that's willing and more sensible. The Russians were able to organize Worlds a decade ago pronto when Japan was hit by disaster.Currently there are tennis tournaments (Australian Open, ATP Cup just finished), there was handball world championship, there are skiing competitions (some of them is Sweden), and if ISU was able to organize speed skating competitions (world cup in january, world championships are just about to start, there are short track events), then why figure skating should be halted.
I agree with this. Aloina, to me, is the most talented and definitely something special. But Kamila is also an amazing talent and the clear #1 right now. Aloina will really have to prove herselfTrue but it hurts the others even more. It hurts Aliona the most.
I agree. I LOVE LOVE LOVE Aliona. However, she's hurt the most by Kamila getting quads because Kamila is also artistic with lovely lines. It's like how Anna can be considered the balance between both Aliona and Sasha's strengths (artistry vs quads) but without being as strong in either (and with her own weaknesses namely skating skills and lutz edges but she's not alone in that). However, Kamila does that even better, without the edge issues of the others and now with a 3A. Kamila is also younger with less injuries or illnesses than the others.I agree with this. A problem with Russia is that due to doping scandal they can't organize any big sports events until 2022 I believe. Athletes are currently exempt from travel restrictions to Sweden though. And um ISU did indeed pay for the singers already (would be nice if they used money to make bigger prizes or better judging system instead but who am I to judge). It would be ridiculous and plain stupid to cancel Worlds again. Because the competition with Kamila isn't for this year it's for the 3 Olympic spots next year and ultimately the OGM. There are only 3 spots. Why?
No one would expect aliona to beat Anna or Mills at the cup final. Aliona needs to beat Liza.
By queen do you mean the band or a skater? HahaNo more Queen too, if possible. I‘ve had enough Queen this year to last me for the next 10 years.
Milla a typo.Kamila.Because the competition with Kamila isn't for this year it's for the 3 Olympic spots next year and ultimately the OGM. There are only 3 spots.
Who is Mills?? (Sasha??)
