Interesting that RusFed apparently said Kseniia had no right to participate in RCF... I mean honestly I don't find it to be too incorrect (and I say this with Kseniia being one of my favs) since by all technicalities she did not participate at the stages required to go to RCF. But yet Davis/Smolkin get to go and they didn't compete at any stages either? Hmmmmm that makes me a bit mad.
I think she would’ve been allowed, had she applied to participate. I think that’s why he mentioned her case separately, because they would want her to compete here.
But because she didn’t, there’s no ground to register her for this competition, unless the fed personally goes after her and forces her to apply for it.

did you seriously expect people to read what Kogan had actually said, especially when the goal was just to throw mud at other skaters? 🤣

Blast from the Past

I was looking at old Russian Nat Juniors results and I kind of got stuck at 2017 - four years ago.
We all know these skaters, and some of them have already resigned... :(

The results (old GOE system):
1. Alina Zagitova 216.82 (still active...kind of)
2. Stanislava Konstantinova 200.85 (still active)
3. Polina Tsurskaya 200.08 (resigned)
4. Alexandra Trusova 194.60 (still active)
5. Daria Panenkova 192.52 (resigned)
6. Alisa Fedichkina 186.33 (resigned)
7. Anastasia Gubanova 185.79 (still active)
8. Anastasia Gulyakova 182.00 (still active)
9. Ekaterina Kurakova 180.79 (still active for Poland)
10. Anna Tarusina 180.22 (resigned)
11. Elizaveta Nugumanova 178.83 (still active)
12. Sofia Samodurova 176.70 (still active)
13. Viktoria Vasilieva 171.47 (changed to Pairs)
14. Anastasia Tarakanova 165.38 (still active)
15. Maria Talalaikina 163.36 (still active)
16. Alëna Kostornaia 161.25 (still active)
17. Ksenia Pankova 153.07 (?? I don't know this girl)
18. Ekaterina Mitrofanova 151.33 (?? I don't know this girl)

Overall, a tough bunch of young future stars.

I found Maria Talalaikina's free program. Nice, and she was clean. A little rough around the edges and a bit juniorish...but she beat Kostornaia!!

Nastya G is still active? :(

That my friend is one amazing impressive list.

I'm sure that as soon as Rusada/RusFed get confirmation from WADA that none of the three Russian vaccines contain banned substances, they will get vaccinated asap.
Oh God they have to think about that too. We don't need any screw ups now.

Sinitsina allegedly tried to apply to Cup Final but wasn't allowed:

I don't know how reliable this source is though. But if it's true, then it's really not nice from RusFed, considering that many notable skaters could go despite not completing in Cup events and Kseniia would definitely deserve it after her successful performances at Nats2020, JGP events and Youth Olympics.

Edit: one of the reasons why Kseniia was not allowed to jump over qualification criteria could be the fact that she is only on reserve team, not the main one. But it's still a pity, especially after Gulyakova withdrew, they could have at least sent Kseniia as substitution.

hmmm, let's see...
- it's an article in a tabloid known for publishing slanderous bs
- written by a known hater of Eteri
- that either is a moron writing about CoR participation knowing zilch about rules applying to it, or is doing it on purpose ("...Note that the list of participants includes dancers Victoria Sinitsina and Nikita Katsalapov, who did not complete a single stage of the Russian Cup due to injuries, and the duet Diana Davis - Gleb Smolkin, who missed all the competitions of the season, performs in the junior category.")* to gather clicks from angry fans

* S/K & D/S can automatically participate in the CoR final without taking part in any of the stages because they are in the senior and junior national teams. Sinitsyna isn't.

Huh maybe not the most reliable one then. Anyway, hopefully Sinitsina will be able to get GP spots next season despite her injury this year.

I think she should withdraw, she doesn't look near ready to be back.
She should if she is truly not ready. This would kill the drama though, turning the cup final into as insignificant competition as it always was. I see no chance for Liza N being picked ahead of Liza T. Crooks sold the tickets for FS above 100$. Without Liza vs. Alyona, well, they will be able to enjoy Kamila yet another time.

that runthrough isn't even something i would consider bad, she had a fluke fall on one lutz. everything else she landed pretty well, although not with the same ease as last season yet.

i just hope she puts out 2 performances she can be proud of regardless of if they are clean or she makes the team, and that people remember she is still recovering from covid.

They said before that they, being the RusFed, were going to revise rules as most of the RusFed team missed a stage (and or withdrew from one thing or another or skated but skating ill/injured/etc.) However, there aren't any senior level skaters on the national team that are going to the Cup Final that didn't compete in at least one of the stages, Rostelecom, or RusNats. (Kseniia didn't go to any of them.)

A bad practice doesn't necessarily mean much, Shcherbakova looked dreadful in her warmup at Nationals but when it came to performance time she nailed it.
True, but from this small clip, she looks-fragile-like someone coming back from a serious illness, which of course she is. She doesn't look as if she has regained her strength.
