I dunno about that, she probably can go back and skate with AOP, or at least use their rink until the contract is up. Or some sponsor might buy out her contract. AOP does deserve compensation. I'm assuming the contract was for one year (I know nothing about Russian law, or contracts under Russian law etc.), or until the transition window (May?) starts. (so 9 mos). Also, since she never formally transitioned to AOP, Eteri group is probably getting a percentage of her commercial work? I don't understand why she didn't just wait until the transition window in a couple of months.
Actually, former skater and an attorney. LOL. But I have no knowledge of Russian civil law.

I tried to read to all the posts starting from when the doonkie hit the fan a few days ago, but I give up. So let me see if I got everything straight:
1. Kostornaia left Plushenko less than a year after leaving Tutberidze.
2. She has multiple injuries, including some sore throat thingie, strep throat or tonsilitis.
3. She violated a contract by leaving Plushenko.
4. Said contract is expensive to get out of.
5. Her uncle, Lakernik, does not have the money to help her out.
6. So a GoFundMe account has been set up for her to end her contract so she can return to Tutberidze and company.
Did I miss anything? She hasn’t been named to the World Team or anything like that, right? Tuktymysheva’s still going, right? Because nothing will surprise me at this point.

Oh I don't have issues with people not liking AoP lying, or their PR department. Just how they think Kostornaya's trapped and how it's so one-sidedly unfair to her.Because Plushenko came out with a big statement saying that he's so generous and that there are no contracts and Aliona will get everything for free.
They're within their rights to ask for the money back but don't make out that you're generously giving it away for free when you had no intention to?
I do wonder if Plushenko and Yana are not on the same page with all this. He keeps saying one thing and then her coming out with "yeah kinda but actually no not at all".

Summer'20: "We didn't even discuss the financial details, but if she'll need anything, I'll cover that - I can afford it and I'm not stingy."

Kostornaia is a malcontent at this point. Complaining, not listening to coaching, leaving one coach, badmouthing coach she left, and then crawling back to that coach.
She has zero credibility now that she returned.
Don’t care what anyone’s opinion is of Plushenko. What’s right is right and I will call a spade a spade.
As great as she is, that’s now 2 coaches she has walked out on. That’s not a good sign at all. She now carries a lot of baggage. Once is anomaly, 2 times is a pattern.
She has shown that she will leave you when things don’t go her way. That’s not on Plushenko, and that’s not something that can credibly be spun to attack him.
And any fan or family member being a sycophant and not calling out bad behavior only encourages more bad behavior.
