Well, Yuzuru Hanyu routinely skates 4-quad programs (with 2 3A, so 6 ultra-C jumps, just like a Nathan Chen's 5-quad program). Stamina-wise, his Origin program was exhausting in itself. His new program, Heaven and Earth, doesn't seem so heavy in this respect. And Shoma Uno does too, though at Nationals for instance, he somehow bombed his 4T combo. (I don't enter the question of his technique.) Yuma Kagiyama had "only" 3, as several other Men have.Yes, but the quality of her skating and jumps have improved since then. I am sure she would score higher with a clean 4 quad program now. The issue is that anything over 3 Quads is extremely difficult for anyone other than Nathan Chen. It takes so much stamina. Sasha has been injured and I don't know if she will have the stamina.
I've read somewhere, that the sport director of "1 Channel" is some lady who's in love with figure skating. They are doing great job indeed! That's great
Good luck everyone![]()

Now that’s a great flight to be on. Imagine traveling with the whole Russian ladies team.
Not judging, but the US has a rule where the whole team can not travel together... how common it is for the whole Russian team to travel to an event together? Going from my faulty memory it feels like the events in east asia seem to have most the team together on the same plane.
So...Thanks to Mishin. He goes to worlds with three skaters and only one assistant. Not sure if this is the right thread to bring it up in, but can anyone tell me how (I saw this on Instagram and Twitter) Eteri, Sergei, and Daniil can all go to worlds? I thought the ISU said it was only one coach per skater... and Eteri only has two peopleSo...
As for Anna's consistency, I believe more in three clean quads than both clean 3Lz+3Lo combos in SP and FSI would think that Sasha might go for 4 quads, and land at least 3 of them cleanly (obviously depending on the state of her injury).
At cup stages, she first went for 3 quads, landed 2, on the following stage she went for 4 and landed 3. So having room for error might be able to help her psychologically. Seeing how she attempted 3 at 1TV cup, I would think she’s preparing for skating either that content or upgrading with 1 more quad.
Anna is a question mark for me, I would think they will go for a safe option of 2 quads and bet on consistency.
Anna did plan to go for three by Rostelecom or at the latest RusNats. (The only reason she didn't was because she got pneumonia and didn't do any runthroughs at all leading to RusNats.) And she was upset that she "only" did two at RusNats. (So was Sasha.) So, I kinda think Anna's plan is probably 3. (We also know she's learned a 4F-3T that she didn't have last year.)I would think that Sasha might go for 4 quads, and land at least 3 of them cleanly (obviously depending on the state of her injury).

True. I'm actually slightly worried about Sasha's 3Lz-3Lo combo in the FS too..As for Anna's consistency, I believe more in three clean quads than both clean 3Lz+3Lo combos in SP and FS![]()
Were there any rules saying that a team could send extra coaches if another team didn’t fully fill their spots? Thanks to Mishin. He goes to worlds with three skaters and only one assistant.
Anna is definitely going for three quads. Doing two puts her too close to Rika and behind Trusova. Trusova will have to do four in the FS; otherwise, she's lying down and taking that L. Also, she needs to do four quads regardless if she hits the 3A in the short or not. This is because a clean Anna could score in the high 70s in the SP and it’s not necessarily a guarantee that Trusova could top that even if she lands a clean 3A. You know, lost spin & step levels, lower PCS, etc. Hitting the 3A won’t neutralize any lead a clean Anna would possibly have. That’s actually for the girl who has the 3A in the SP.As for Sasha, I think I think she'll do at least 3 (maybe 4 depending on how the 4S or 4F is.) I also think she'll try for the 3A in the SP (which she actually needs more than she needs another quad.) If Anna does 3 quads in the FS, she needs either a 3A in the SP and three quads in the FS or four quads in the FS. (But four quads in one skate is riskier..so I think the decision will be whichever one is more stable - the 3A or the 4th quad.) (Especially as even with only 3 quads, Anna's BV will be close to hers.)

High 70s? Trusova has yet to break 75 in an SP in international competition. Anna, however, has. To be fair, I think her SP is better than what she had last year and I do think it could score around 77 if clean with a 2A. But that wasn't my point. My point was this: If clean Anna scores a 78 in the SP and Trusova manages an 82 (with a clean skate with a 3A), Trusova would still need four quads in the FS as four points is a negligible lead against Anna.I also think Anna's going for 3.
Hmm, not necessarily. If Sasha's also capable of hitting in the middle (at the lowest) to high 70s in the SP even with her 2A.
No, but that 75 was with a bad 2A. (A clean 2A from Sasha scores about a 4.5 (and she had a 3 there.)) She actually was less than 1.5 points lower than Anna everywhere else, and that's with a 3Lz+3T and not a 3Lz+3Lo. (Which Anna actually hasn't been overly consistent on this year - although neither has Sasha.) That 4.7 change in BV is not inconsequential. So, I actually think an 82+ is actually more than reasonable with higher PCS and a clean skate with a 3A.High 70s? Trusova has yet to break 75 in an SP in international competition. I think that one of the Mishin's skaters just formally puts one of the "trio" as his accompaniment and no one cares who is from which team as long as there are as many skaters as coaches. Were there any rules saying that a team could send extra coaches if another team didn’t fully fill their spots?
If Sasha goes for four quads and lands 3 watch out! Her friendship with Anna will be tested.I would think that Sasha might go for 4 quads, and land at least 3 of them cleanly (obviously depending on the state of her injury).

I feel like the RusFed probably made a lot of the arrangements and probably does all takes care of most of the registrations anyway. And it was more just make sure everyone was registered and the ISU doesn't actually care as long as there is a 1-1 skater coach ratio and each skater has a coach named. Were there any rules saying that a team could send extra coaches if another team didn’t fully fill their spots?
