When I see the big empty hall I ask myself if it wouldn't be better to arrange competitions without audience in some smaller arena where it wouldn't be (maybe) that depressive.

Small arenas rarely have a second ice rink required for practices or a connecting hotel. Both are very useful, especially in a situation where you want to avoid buses. Generally it's nice when you don't have to depend on bus schedules and can walk to the arena for both competition and practice.

Is that Majorov, who took a photo with Yagudin, on practice ice with Hanyu?

Perhaps she's there to talk about the Summer Olympics, it's been 20 years since she won the 400m in Sydney

Must be just Eurosport, we're not getting it on SBS.

It's part of Eurosport's "Trailblazers" series that they made for the Olympics.

I've switched over to the ISU stream for the interval, as they are showing clips of skating.

The grouchy couch for ladies includes a very large squishy couch that somehow still allows for social distancing (and really always has because some of us are not huggers). Today's snacks for ladies are gummy bears (sour and regular), coffee and tea and doritos. There are some shots of tequila for those of you that need to imbibe.

Lukewarm floor has a few body pillows for comfort and a fruit plate.
