She really doesn’t like being called an angel, does she! That vampire program is 100% her, I’m surprised she can pull of all those angelic programs so convincingly!
looked at more videos of that 3A attempt, someone posted a slowed down version. Looked fully rotated to me, not even a q on there. I think she just landed Aigle forward, and that caused a step out. Good job, girl!

Aliona will never not try and finesse a landing. Even after that bad step-out she's like, arms up, leg extended, perfect landing.

From the earlier videos, it looked like she was landing forward, but you're right -- I saw this slowed-down version, and while the quality/lighting still isn't great, it does look fully rotated!!
I think this is the first time she's attempted a 3A in a show/gala -- even in the 2019-20 season she never did a 3A outside the competition.
So I think that must mean that she's landing the 3A pretty consistently in training!

Her 3F+3T today also looked pretty perfect!!
And that 3S is so big and airy, I wonder if she'll start training the 4S again...

I am surprised some people are saying it was UR.
Considering this was not the best conditions to have a rebirth of her wonderful 3A AK did fantastic considering it was very dark it was at a show and not a regular competition. I really think Aliona will be a factor next season. The girl is back home with the best coaches and the best teammates and the sky is the limit. It will still be hard for her to make the Olympic team but she has a real chance now. She had no chance at PA because she was buried by Sasha.
Just sick about figure skating not doing with golf and tennis do and let people qualify by their world standings. This is why figure skating remains a niche sport. I mean can you imagine someone telling Roger Federer you can't play Wimbledon because you're not in the top 10 or Eldrick Tiger Woods you can't play the Masters because you're not in the top 20?
Track-and-field and swimming and qualifications to see who can make an Olympic team in each country and I don't think the American team is limited in either of those sports.
Let's see what happens next season and what Alionas programs are.
Her return to TT is pretty much certain long term.
