I always wonder if it's a good idea to use "Fields of Gold"...like it's a bit awkward when you don't win.

I still remember Michelle Kwan's Exhibition at Salt Lake... second hand embarrassment, but maybe that was just me

Yes, it can be awkward. Also, that program and the end of Michelle's career are really linked for American audiences. I am not sure it is a good choice for another team to use it. Michelle was all I thought about while they skated. She really skated to that program with pure emotion.

On a positive note, I don't think I realized before what a beautiful skater Joshua is...

Classic pieces work so well for T/M. I don't think their skating needs a "cheap trick" like a costume change. Also, I always want Vladimir to perform. The entire performance is always on the shoulders of Tarasova.

I like the program but that has to be the most pointless costume change I’ve yet seen, and I hope they take it out because I worry it distracts Evgenia’s focus. Like, the music didn’t even change?

It’s just so depressing. Eva Cassidy died of melanoma at 33. I doubt Pfund and Santillan expect to win here. Michelle was different.

Maybe because I don't really think of the lyrics that much, and I've never had that much of a connection to Kwan, but I thought their program was lovely. And Joshua really shines in it.

Probably was told about the live stream freezing occasionally, so she made the trip so she can go “talk” to the IT guys. Good luck to them, they are going to need it. Haha

Yeah. Totally not needed here. The music is good, the program is very well choreographed. They just need to perform it and the score is going to go up and up. No need for unnecessary worries.

Yes, it also seemed high to me. But, their quality is top-notch. Evgenia was really performing well throughout, too. I want them to do well this year. (on the other hand, there are so many pairs I am rooting for it isn't possible for all of them to win the Olympics)

Is anyone else getting the broken stream. It's friggin' annoying! They seem bound and determined to mess up in the middle of every program!!!! Aaaargh!!!

I liked Lu/Mitrofanov's different look and costumes. It was an interesting program. The opening position is awkward though. They need to tweak that. Misha had nerves on the sbs. Not too bad overall. I thought the score was a bit low.

Pfund/Santillan being out of competition waiting for their release is showing. They were a bit slow and cautious. They need time to rebuild and improve on the talents they possess. I like the yellow and green of their individual costumes. Unfortunately, the g*d*n stream broke right when they went into their sbs jumps, which they usually ace. So, I have no idea whether they landed their jumps. They better friggin' fix this stream, or why bother? They have had several days to get it together!!!

I like the fresh look of T/M's costumes, and the choreo is interesting. But they still made a jump error. The judges love them though. I think that was an overly high score. Judges just want to reward them obviously.
