I hear you about how the coaches make the decisions in Russia, I get that it's part of the culture. But Mishin's and Moskvina's teams still use many different choreographers, probably because they see the value in different people's styles and insights.

That's why despite having two different chroreographers, Kolyada had the same step sequence in SP and FS last year.

Oh yes...that must be it. What a silly mistake!! Can't the ISU see that Elisabet Tursynbaeva and Elizaveta Tuktamysheva are COMPLETELY different names!!

Surely that place will now go to Safonova...or will they give a 2nd spot to Wi, Paganini or Yokoi?

Pretty sure it has nothing to do with „disgust“, it’s a spin which you decide to put on it. He’s emotional, I can give it you. But he’s equally as happy, when they do well. I remember he would lift Evgenia up back in the day after she skated. He’s still very young, with age he probably will be more reserved with showing emotions.
I don’t know if it’s a good thing not to show any emotions.

I was particularly waiting for the score annoucement to see which face he will do this time. He was always very expressive. Especially with juniors (since he was the one who was going the most with them at comps). Just see his reaction to Trusova's score at 2018 junior worlds.

I think he was even more appreciated as a choreographer and human being back in the time. But since 2018 summer he only seems to arouse scorn and anger.

I'm going with a typo somewhere confusing Tuktamysheva and Tursynbaeva. Probably Tursynbaeva is correct since she had 1 assignment, why would Tuktamysheva withdraw from Rostelecom and not Skate Canada which happens first.

This is probably the case, but I find it really sloppy on the part of who ever is updating this.

Yeah, it‘s not that difficult to double check a name, and especially because the list is going out the the entire world, and a typo like that will confuse a lot of people.

Where did Zinina and Kulikova come from? I’ve heard all about Akatieva, Samodelkina and even Berestovskaia hype in the previous years, but this is the first time I hear those two surnames - and they’re pretty good!

Where did Zinina and Kulikova come from? I’ve heard all about Akatieva, Samodelkina and even Berestovskaia hype in the previous years, but this is the first time I hear those two surnames - and they’re pretty good!

Zinina was one of the junior women who appeared on the Ice Age Kids show and until this year had mostly saccharine programs with some ups and downs. But, this year, things seem to be coming together for her with quads starting up and building up on her performance qualities that helped her through IAK (obviously, knock on wood)

No risk, no reward. She's less than 6.5 points from bronze, it's not like she's got an insurmountable point deficit to overcome.

Yeah and we've seen her landing the 4T but at what cost if the set up is that empty and long? and if training these elements take away other more important aspects she should care about, like the height in these triple jumps.

And yes training these jumps does help your triples but you don't train quad lutz, or quad flip or quad loop so it's not going to fix the technique on those.

Zinina in particular is very good, and the program too, good music (not overused), nice costume. Without the mistake on the 2a her score could have been around 70, closer to Zhilina and Muraveva.
