Maybe R sport got it wrong? In the Rusfed documents it just says “14 years and older”.
And I assume that also includes the Russia Cup Stages? In that case, Berestovskaya is out of senior nationals this year...unless she somehow manages to qualify to the JGPF.

It will never happen in an olympic year and even if it did it doesn't mean anything because they can't go to Olympics or senior worlds. You want disarray but the queen of coaches does not. ;)
Because then Russia Cup Final and skate off at Europeans will matter!

Maybe Eteri will make her juniors plan accordingly, to finish no higher than 4th at senior nats. 2018 was different, because there were only three relevant Eteri skaters, one of whom didn't even participate, but we still saw Kostornaia oust Tsurskaya. It can happen! A very nerve-filled nationals, this time around, where the only thing practically guaranteed is Anna's winning performance, lol.

Why is Sofya Akatyeva's name spelled 'Akateva' on the official ISU pages? I would have thought she spelled her own name correctly on her accounts
Who knows? Муравьева = Muravieva, Акатьева = Akateva?

Yes, I know it's actually Муравьëва

Agreed.

If Anna doesn't get her quads back she ain't winning 4 nats in a row.

Nerves will probably be a big issue. For the fans. ;)

Weird translations probably. Aliona Kostornaia spells her name as ‘Aliona‘ but the ISU spells it ‘Alena’.

Well that one's because it's ë but they use e internationally even though ë is said yo. The only time I've seen that one done correctly is with the ice hockey goalie Semyon Varlamov, probably because it'd be a little awkward if they used e there instead.

However, with Akatieva it's different because generally you would spell that akatieva and also it's pronounced that way too as you could hear with the Russian announcer at the JGP event.

Sasha had a really rough FS at US Classic. Down on the flip, the sal was ok maybe a little short, missed the takeoff on the toe loop, first lutz had a hand down and a step out, got the combo on the seocnd lutz but both jumps were short. Might have been too soon to compete again after test skates, or its just her normal inconsistencies.

Is perhaps Trusova's best hope be that the other ladies are equally inconsistent because would the Fed go with her if they have 3 solid competition-reliable options?

They can’t all be perfect. And she’s got time.

Also she skated last week, she’s probably tired from competing and traveling.

Well, maybe now they will not tell from every iron about the inevitable victory of Sasha at the ChR and OG? Once again, it was confirmed that multi-quad is a very risky business. Shaky victory in the fight against some nonames.

True, but she was hitting clean 3A combos and multiple fully rotated quads in both the previous training days in the US and during the warm ups. I hope history is not repeating again but she likes to prove us that she falls, has underotations, and rough landings (including 2 foot landings) during competitions. And at this point this is coming from her. I think everyone is ready to give her all the points and medals but this is all coming from her and her actual results in competitions..

Yes she does have time, but this has been a theme with Trusova as a senior, practices look fine, but in competitions something happens and she struggles
Yes, as much as I love her fierceness, she is the one making this a trend. If she fell multiple times during her training/warms ups I would have thought that she was just tired but that was not the case.

This is my concern too. She does have time and there wasn't a break between test skates and this event, but still. If she can't deliver at the US International Classic where there was legitimately no pressure whatsoever, how is she going to do it at the big important events?

I don't think it was fatigue either, because like others have said, her practices were very solid.

I never thought I would see the day where sasha would score under 220 points.

Anna better get her quads back just in case.

Not sure it was wise to go to America a week or less than a week after having test skates in Russia.

What other Russian ladies are in this competition?
