I still think there’s a link between this “mental” block and the technique, though. If she doesn’t “feel” the rink, it probably goes back to her not feeling like she’s able to snap into rotation quick enough, and feeling like she may get injured by not completing the rotation (and she’s likely right to feel like this). With her jump technique, I think this is a completely valid “mental” block, especially because in my hypothesis it’s not only mental, but goes back to her fundamentals. It must be frustrating for her to not be able to do the jumps even when she feels slightly off, but considering how huge her jumps can be and the mechanics of how she does them, I think she’s completely right to be cautious.
I remember there was a video where Plushenko suggested trying a 3A on a harness and she refused. If she doesn’t want to try a jump on harness as well, it might be indeed a mental block more than technique.
