Anna got some calls that caused her TES to go down 5+ pointsCongrats to Maiia! I definitely wouldn’t have predicted her victory especially after she Zayaked, but I love how she’s pushed herself as a performer.
So...you're point is, (in the Russian Women's thread I might add), that all Russian women are overscored?

You are not a crical. Another more appropriate word is needed hereAlso, my apologies, I didn’t realize this was a fan fest for Russian women’s figure skating and we aren’t allowed to say anything remotely critical.![]()
I agree with the posters that say Anna doesn't jump up with maximum spring in her practice quad attempts.I think that was a good skate for Shcherbakova. After watching her practice sessions i thought her quad is not ready at all.
But it was only q in the free. She definitely can improve on that part.
I honestly think this was just a judging and technical panel that did its job correctly. ( Other than the persistent obsession with lips while flutzes are ignored) They weren't sending anyone messages, they were just judging what was put out on the ice. This good judging likely won't carry over to other competitions. Anna will be fine.Wow, I think with the result of Budapest trophy the judges have sent a clear message to Anna. She needs to land some quads to win.
Samodelkina had higher scores in Gdańsk vs Krasnoyarsk. Judging is bias because it’s a professional call.My point was that the scoring in Gdansk was normal and the scoring at Krasnoyarsk was favouring the Russians. I’m not saying all Russians are overscored all the time, but in Russia they usually are, currently and historically. This whole “they scored this high in this Russian event - where the judging is clearly in their favour - so they deserve to be scoring that high in every non-Russian event where the judging would be less biased to them” is a pretty loose argument. In fact it’s the worst argument for what a skater’s scores should be regardless of nationality, using national events as a barometer for how a skater should be judged elsewhere since national events almost invariably boost their own skaters. I mean, we might as well use the Channel One scoring to determine PCS for those skaters internationally.

DomesticWas Rostelecom considered international last year or domestic? If that was domestic, then JGP would be her last international, I think? Which means she would be able to compete internationally next season for a different country?
She did two 4Ts though?Congrats Maiia! The rotation on Maiia's 4s is unquestioned, this will really help her.
No way the case of Gdansk scoring could be reduced only to comparison with scoring in Krasnoyarsk. A lot was said on that matter in competition threads and something here and in the qualification threads, no need to repeat that and I certainly do not believe you missed that.My point was that the scoring in Gdansk was normal and the scoring at Krasnoyarsk was favouring the Russians. Well, these two mean the same thing. It occurred to me the old mantra "No quad = no Olympic medal" is outdated.
No quadS (more better) means no Olympics at all. For Russian ladies.
Yes, the first one was with a step-out, the second one was clean with a combo with 3T, but possibly should have been with a 2T, because Maiia Zayaked herself and the last Lutz was not evaluated as she repeated 4T, 3Lz and 3T. I guess the layout is how the program should be if she was doing 4S instead of one of the 4Ts and maybe she didn't realize that in the moment (as she had to put the combo behind the second quad because of the step-out on the first one). She did two 4Ts though?
I think you're forgetting someone named Alena. I wouldn't count her out..It occurred to me the old mantra "No quad = no Olympic medal" is outdated.

Except may be Tuktamisheva. And she's better to try to land some quad quickly...
