Personally regardless of what happens this season, my gut tells me that Trusova is one who I think has the stamina to stick around for a while. I think it’s because she’s just so physically fit, she looks like she has the full body strength to support the long term training of these high impact elements. She has the physicality of an acrobat and that’s going to help her. She’s not the kind of skater where it’s all hanging by a thread.

I love Russian girls but I'm incredibly bummed about Kihira not attending SC.
I was re-watching her old programs yesterday and damn it was soo great to finally see something different.

All the Team Tut girls programs look freaking same, same transitions, same jumps, same idea of artistry.

All withdrawals are painful, hopefully there won't be problems with Visa for Russians.. or anything else..
So far it doesn't look there should be a problem at SC and the Russians fortunately got their visas for SA in Uzbekistan. I hope some last moment ommission won't emerge.

Rika was the only chance of breaking up a Russian sweep at SC. I don't know if the Russians will sweep SA this week but I think Sasha is a virtual lock and Daria has a really strong shot at a medal as well. Kaori could spoil a sweep at SA or one of the Koreans. I haven't really seen much of Sinitsyna. Is she capable of coming out on top of the other names to complete a sweep at SA too?

Sinitsyna had a pretty strong short program at test skates, but her free wasn't nearly as good. She had quite a few mistakes/pops IIRC, and it just didn't look like she had the stamina to skate a clean long. Now, that was over a month ago and we haven't seen her since, so I'm sure things have changed since then. I think if she skates two clean programs this weekend she has a great shot at a medal.

Anna looks like regressing if she doesn't have her quad jump, she will be in the same league as Daria, Sofia and Evgenia and will miss her chance to the olympic team. It's sad because her last peak was at russian national last year, it was a beauty performance with 2 quads, this was my favorite program from her and this performance would have make her to the olympic team. But, if she isn't able to repeat this kind of performance, without quad, she will not be in the olympic team. And probably Maiia Khromykh will jump to the opportunity and making the team if her quad are consistent this season.

I'm not going to be overly concerned about Shcherbakova at this point, we know she missed a significant amount of training (like a month) with an injury to her picking toe and she has a habit of being a hammer toe, but they were at least confident in the quad flip to the point to put it into her program last week.

Do all of the Tutberidze skaters have to get their dresses made by the same dressmaker? I assume there is an agreement for Olga to provide all the dresses for the team.

Olga works with "The A-Team", like you can't ask TOYOTA Team to win in a BMW (stop me if i'm writing nonsense)

No mockery here, just trying to picture something ... Strictly not meaning that Russian Teams should not collaborate with Others designers, and vice-versa.

Far from having an encyclopedic FS knowledge, it seems to me that Olga dares, seeks and tries innovative things, constantly.
Who would have predicted the last swirling fluorescent colors ?
She personalizes the outfits, if I believe the numerous reactions and reproaches that she triggers here, Costume individually :

"too long for her", "perfect for 🎃", "perfect for my Granny", "still grey" or "too fluo" or "too fluo grey still"

I remember waves of criticisms too while Alena & Sasha had new "not Olga Line" outfits at AOP.

I would be curious to know how the "academic training" of ISU judges is managed, on the artistic aspects, so that they remain (as) objective (as possible). (🤭)
Maybe too Figure Skaters at that level would not even need to be differentiated "dress-wise", as they make the difference in All...

All I know is that if I had a daughter in skating, her dresses would be made by the designer for the Korean team. Their dresses are all standouts.

Sharing the same wonderment for the Korean Designers and this is not what your words are about but : it inspires me that I've seen too many Sports lose their sparkle, because of an energy drink and extra (business) conformity , so from my low point of view FS universe must avoid all "applied model" and preserve the diversity, which includes what some calls "Bad-Taste" too.
Funny fact is one costume i "disliked" in the past is still here, embedded in my mind, and I'm starting to think at the moment that it was perfectly Iconographic, that i was just not ready ; that i was not here to solve my torments and confess :scratch2:

All of this talk about program swapping and my own personal opinions about bad costuming has made me really want to put away the current drawing I’m working on to create a Russian ladies series with program concepts and costumes that I would envision for each of them.

Criticism is easy,
Art is difficult,
There are a bunch of Haters,
And a bunch of Lovers,
i'll dream that everyone criticizing
Have the same creative constructive energy as you !

" :love:" ;
feeling ultra curious, enthusiastic, euphoric about your Russian Ladies Series !

I won't mix worlds but i'm regularly reading on threads here and there some destructive belittling remarks about Daniil and his Work.
If not in a special sense of devastating humor, I wish these commentators to acquire the sensitivity and singularity of this accomplished choreographer, just one day, just to know. That's said ;

Sorry for the length but they said, "post long and often" ;)

Nothing new in this thread...
Though one would think they learned their lesson already after she won RusNats 3 times in a row... 🤔
Yep. Before Anna's breakout first senior season, there was talk that she should remain a Junior.... then she won SrNats. The second season she was eclipsed by Alyona's near-perfect skating, but she won Sr.Nats. Her third season she was dealing with Covid, injuries, stronger competition and people were saying she should withdraw. She again won Sr.Nats. Seriously, I just don't doubt Anna anymore. Ice is slippery and she might not win, but I feel most secure whenever she skates out of all the Russians, save for Akatieva.

Alysa can beat Alena at SC. Liu's 3a have been going well in practice and Alena did not look great at Findlandia. Alysa could possibly even overtake Liza with clean 3a skates if PCS are fairly credited.

Yes, 3 times National champion in a row is incredible. Only Irina Slutskaya and Maria Butyrskaya can match that, and they didn't have the same fierce competition back in their days.
But I am glad that a bunch of "naysayers" who are always not happy with choreo, jump technique, skating skills, dresses (for god's sake) - you name it - are still here. They save this thread from turning into info bulletin plus fan fest.

If there were international judging at RusNats, Anna would hardly have won 1 of these 3 titles. Otherwise, I agree that she is very strong in Russia and her scores for the same level of skating as in Hungary would be 240+
