2021 Skate America: Pairs Free Skate

it has been very difficult for our figure skaters... very.... that's why Canada was hoping the ISU would not hold worlds last year or at least not use it as olympic qualifier.... Lack of ice time was huge during the first couple waves... then it became the lack of competitive opportunities. Things are getting much better now all around but when you are off your rhythm as an athlete, it can take months to recover.... and injuries are frequent when people are trying to catch up with things

This. In general, also, Canada doesn't send it's developing skaters to many events. And then on top of that is the mass retirement of many pillars of Canadian skating - Kaetlyn, Patrick, D/R, V/M, and W/P (or injury in the case of Gabby) - that they were already struggling to build up again.

I love this team so much, but I really don't like their programs. They are better than this program. Who did the American's programs? M/K should consider changing their choreographer next season.

I think he's too happy for them, the music is kind of serious?

I love their flow and their joy. I love that Japan has a pairs team that's competitive on the world stage and that they kind of came out of nowhere.

I'd say their FS score should be behind K/F, but combined should be easily enough to lead.

The Japanese have gorgeous and FAST basic skating and, even with the mistake, I would easily put them in first. And I say that as a woman who hates the music with a passion. Many years ago, I man serenaded me with it and as soon as he sang the lyric "girl child of such loveliness" I threatened to file a restraining order.

Miura/Kihara is still way too close to the boards on the throws. I know this rink is smaller, but they were really close to the boards at Worlds too.
