Not sure about the decision to change Aliona's both programs. It didn't go well last season...
I do prefer Lovely to her Vivaldi FP, but as an unpopular opinion, I think her Beth Hart SP was fine, it suited Aliona and she seemed to enjoy skating to it. She did well with it at Finlandia.
Not sure about New York, New York and it would be strange if they do use the Frank Sinatra version as the girls very rarely use male vocals. Also not sure about using slow-ish music in both programs.
If we're open to giving the girls male vocals, can I petition to change Daria's Nessum Dorma to Pavarotti? Haha

Does anyone know if Tuktamysheva plans on adding a quad to her free skate for the Grand Prix or Nationals?
I know that she was practicing one a couple years back but wasn't sure about this season (considering the Olympics).
I apologize for missing info here on Golden Skate but too lazy to skim through countless pages.

Not that I've heard, the layout she did at Finlandia a couple of weeks ago is what she competed on the GP in the 19-20 season. She really needs to add a quad to her layout in addition to the triple axels she's doing otherwise she is going to be dependent likely that others falter seriously throughout the season

Thanks! Couldn't agree more about adding a quad in order to be competitive with the others.

I think Liza's advantage is her steadiness. If she can be counted on to deliver two clean-ish programs with three 3As, she would make a solid pick for the Olympic team. Her first score this season would have won Worlds last year, so she just needs to keep that level up and challenge the women with quads to beat her.

Will it ever be made public what Russian athletes have been vaccinated or is it just a private personal issue that will remain that way?

I noticed that the stage 3 Russian cup there were hardly any fans there and at the recent Moscow tennis tournament I think they were at 30% capacity. Is it just precautionary and they're trying to stay one step ahead of the virus or are you guys getting hit again?

Keeping my fingers crossed that all the contenders to make the Olympic team stay healthy not just in Russia but all countries.
The pressure to just make an Olympic team for the Russians is just incredible it's massive it's out of this world and then you add having to deal with the virus on top of everything it's mind boggling.
Well every athlete under the age of 18 isn't vaccinated if I heard that correctly as there isn't an ok for one of the vaccines to give to people under the age of 18. They are testing sputnik now and it is probable that it will be allowed to vaccine underage people next year. Please correct me if I am wrong here but thats what i read

What i am afraid of is that for beijing i guess they needto be vaccinated if they are following the footsteps of Tokyo this year. I don't how they will go around that. Mabye there will be exceptions beeing made for them. I don't know

"As for minors, until there is permission from our Ministry of Health to vaccinate minors, this category of athletes will not be vaccinated. The playbook indicates that such cases will be considered individually. But there is an understanding that minors will not be required to sit in quarantine for 21 days. if they are not vaccinated. Basically in this category we have figure skaters, "- added the head of the ROC.

You can either get vaccinated or spend 3 wks in quarantine upon arrival. If Team Tut were smart, they would ensure Kamila gets vaccinated too. Neither COVID nor the the olympic organisers are going to make exception for her just because she's 3 years younger

It's shame it's such a mess. But this is the new world. And athletes are not immune to it.
I think so much less of the Olympics in so many ways than I did maybe 15 or 20 years ago. I hope the girls and guys go and compete if that's what their parents want and if that's what they want. But if some athletes stay home for whatever reason I would support them as well.

I think she'll be more competitive without adding a quad
It seems pointless to me, she can barely skate her usual layout and you want to add another high risk element which drains enormous amount of energy

Disagree that she's 'more competitive' without a quad. Her Finlandia FS was pretty much flawless and she barely scored more than Shcherbakova did at Budapest with multiple errors. And the layout she's doing right now is virtually the same layout she did on the GP series in the 19-20 season and she lost to Satoko and Bradie. My overwhelming frustration with Tuktamysheva and Mishin is that with the exception of last year (which was due to covid) she frequently did 3-4 Challenger-type competitions and they never 'pushed' her layout in any of these smaller (pretty meaningless) competitions and now it kinda seems too late. You are right -- she has struggled to consistently do her current layout clean and here she is in the Olympic season and she's not in the driver's seat, she's pretty much relying on her being clean on this easier layout and probably more than 1 of the top skaters having a bad season to get on the Olympic team.

The Music lists for Skate Canada show Alena is not using Sinatra for New York, New York

Alena KOSTORNAIA
SP: "New York, New York (Theme)" performed by Carey Mulligan, Liz Caplan; "New York, New York" performed by Liza Minnelli
FS: "It's a Money" (instrumental);
"Lovely" by Billie Eilish; "Lovely" cover version by Galpe; choreo by Daniil Gleikhengauz, Eteri Tutberidze

And Liza's planned Program Content looks like her Finlandia layout to me-
