Alright ladies and gentlemen... we've taken over the Johnny Weir threads too much lets try and remedy that. ( look I'm being "brave" ;) )

Now the rules - love Evan if you want to, but remember since we all jumped in on the Johnny threads his fans are welcome here too... we're just not in trouble for hijacking a thread.

I'll go first and say that I love Evan in classic black... it's just nice to see something simple out there... :)

Evan is the personification of tall, dark, and handsome. And even though he's not my favorite skater, I readily admit that he is a strong competitor. His personality is not my cup of tea, but I don't feel the need to bust out with a full-fledged character assassination because of that.

He's really quite attractive.
He skates fast.
He always tries the quad.
He fights hard to win.
The judges love him.

5 things! :)

Ooh, his girlfriend is hot. 6 things!

Aah, more stuff...how bout that LP at Torino. That was awesome.

Thank you Tonichelle for opening a healthy, constructive thread. I was really sick of the hatred and anger expressed by some of the posts in Johnny's threads. This is a really good, healthy move. I hope that the other ones will be no longer poisoned and contaminated. Although I would have loved to read about Johnny's updates or have discussions on his GPF, I have already come to feel too scared to open these threads because of all the negativity, anger, and hatred expressed by some of the posters. I don't think it right.

Although I am not particularly a fan of Evan, I wish him good luck in GPF:) It would be exciting if he could land a quad in both SP and LP. I feel that he may have a podium finish at Worlds if he keep working on it like this.

Yes, and he has great cheekbones, smile, and showmanship, too.!!!

I hope fans of both are welcome in this thread. I am not going to comment on the technical aspect of Evan's skating as I am not an expert in that department. I will comment on what I observe and feel when Evan skates. From his opening pose to his final move Evan takes command of the ice and engages me in his dance so much that I can't take my eyes off of him. When he has an excellent skate it is like a roller coaster ride till the end. He has great energy and spark. For me my friends that is called talent.

I have no trouble to gush Evan.

He is tall, slim, handsome - my type of the look for a man. (His skating prevented me from loving him more.:laugh::laugh:) I admire his fighting spirit, his hard working ethics ......

Evan looked wonderful and very determined in his practice session at Skate America. I wish him all the best in the GPF, at nationals, and beyond. BTW, I have no problem with seeing him in lots of black costumes (although I was glad to see him in an elegant white shirt).

Yeah, he really seems to love black. I think that black underscores his long legs. I wonder how many black costumes he has had. Does anyone know???

At the risk of beginning harmful controversy:

I like his skating best when he lets his inner diva out, at least I thought a lot of his Turin LP was very diva-ish. (let me stress, that's a _good_ thing!)

Evan has definitely grown on me since the first I saw him. He was a lot of fun to see at Champions on Ice 2 seasons ago.
I agree with Toni, he looks good in classic, basic black. The more "decorative" for lack of better word costumes don't look as good on him.

Seriously, to me, Evan and the word "diva" are totally not connected. He is manly, masculine, and handsome.

I agree with you, but I don't know if he likes to be called diva-ish.

In Carmen he did some poses that were very diva-ish.

Evan may not be the most talented or artistic skater out there, but he has that somthing that makes you, as a viewer root for him. (don't forget that those stern looking judges are viewers as well...) He is good looking and obciously a hard worker. I makes it seem possible that we too can do it. I dosen't have that "natural talent" it dosn't come easy. he trains hard, wants to win and does his best.
That what was so special about Michelle. She didn't have the talent from an early age like tara and sasha did. She had a good coach, she had a strong foudation and she was willing to work hard. She took risks and somtimes it paid off.. somtimes it didn't.
