Well that was an action packed skating day!

It's not even 4pm here in Aus, I wonder what I should do with the rest of the afternoon

I was soooo tired so I hadn't the energy to post anything during competition. But the skaters kept me awake!!

That was a much needed spirit raiser after disastrous men’s free. Aside even from Valieva’s super-score, there was so many beautiful programs and just fun to watch without any huge disasters.

Bolero is very difficult to interpret. You have to be on the beat to make this work. Plus I don't think being artistic is their goal here. It's to cram as much tech and quads as possible. I do think they could find a better vehicle for her like a more lyrical piece. Anyway the casual viewers and the press will lap this up when Olympics come.

Congrats to Kami! Well deserved victory! I wish her the best! She has one moth until her next competition she can relax a bit. I am worried about Alena. She is not in herself, she needs to be fierce again.

I hate Bolero but I can almost forgive Kamila for it. The snake detail on her dress sort of makes up for it.

And Liza is always a joy. But when they talk about her being old at 24 I feel like a member of the golden girls.

I love Aliona’s skating, I think her new programs are a much better vehicle for her. She just needs more time with them.

Wakaba was underscored.

And Alyssa is a bright young talent who has improved immensely. I think in a few seasons she will be challenging the best in the world, she just needs time but she’s on the right track. It’s not her fault the US Fed treated her like the second coming of christ. What I love about her is that you can tell she really loves to skate. I feel sad for skaters who look like they’re on their way to their own funerals.

All in all I’m proud of all the ladies, I hope everyone can take the successes and errors and keep building as the season progresses.

To skate like that, to jump like that you need music that will push you forward not to doze off, a very smart move from the coaches. I love the costume as well. Moreover, she shows two different sides to herself in SP and FP. Similar routine would have been a mistake

Yes! I could not agree more! Everything about this program shows off her strengths. For a 15yr old to show that kind of artistry, complexity and athleticism is beyond anything we have seen in this sport. Bolero for the win!
