Frolova and Liventseva are listed in the upcoming Moscow championship (30 Nov - 3 Dec)
Kostyleva is officially in Khrustalny BUT Lena's mother has some serious problems with them. According to her mother currently Kostyleva is coached by Goncharenko (not in Khrustalny)
I remember few months ago her mom commented on ig that they got kicked because of a fight between Margarita and Lena over a yogurt ?

I still wonder what really happened. Being privately coached by Goncharenko could be the right solution for Lena as they seem to be constantly leaving coaches over something to do with other skaters.

Maybe take your day off in a less blatant way
Or maybe you could stop speculating about the private lives of these girls? Who cares how Aliona or Anna spend their day off?! The whole analysis of every step Kosto takes and what her thought process must be is getting creepy. She doesn‘t have a good chance at making the Olympics - so? Does that mean she has to stop existing outside of the gym/rink and spend her every minute there? That‘s not healthy and shouldn‘t be encouraged.

And this is exactly why Daniil‘s comments were so harmful. Because it leads to this kind of intrusive and speculative scrutinizing by "fans" that are already more involved than they should be. He as a coach should be protecting her from that, not piling onto it!

I say this as a fan of hers. Seriously. Let her live and focus on the skating. If she underperforms at her next GP, she‘s out of the GPF and out of the running entirely anyway. So that‘s that.

Who is interested in Kostyleva? Lena Kostyleva was kicked out of the Tutberidze group in June 2021 due to numerous problems with her mother Kostyleva.
AFAIK she wasn't kicked out, her mother decided her daughter to leave by herself... again. We can just speculate whether she will swallow her pride and return... again.

Her mom originally said they were kicked out, tho I dont know if her story has changed since then.

If Kostornaia was performing like she did in the 2019-2020 season or was winning, even if the performances were a bit lackluster, I don't think anyone would be commenting that she's not focused/prioritizing etc. her skating seeing the photoshoots, but she's the weak skater of the Crystal group right now so the photoshoots aren't a good look.
Tell me exactly how someone is supposed to “prioritize” on a day off. What exactly should she be doing? Sneaking into Sambo to do 371748910 triple axels while the coaches aren’t looking? Run a marathon and a half? Sit in front of a screen and watch reruns of Angel and Twilight and Olympic medal ceremonies until her eyes glaze over? She is not blowing off training to do these things. It’s her free time. She can do whatever the f*€% she wants. This obsessive nature over her schedule and hobbies is creepy.

Oh boy, fevers and coronavirus talk again. Explains why Liza WD from Austria.

I do not care how she spends her off time, I was merely replying to another post that no one would care how she spends what we assume is her off time if she was performing better or winning.

Good post. Except you left the part where:
a) she participates in a sport that is public and has a lot of press and attention focused on it and
b) she CHOOSE to make her private life public with her social media posts. You can get a tattoo and go shopping without telling the world, right?

You can’t have it both ways. You can’t court attention on one hand, and on the other hand say, leave me alone. People want attention on their terms. Doesn’t work like that.

If you post something publicly. you should be able to handle others opinions. Like when I post here, I don’t expect everyone to agree with me.

You can’t say “leave her alone” when she does attention seeking things.

Finally, she is not focusing on her skating. That’s why the coaches started the discussion to begin with.

In another world I would love to see Aliona skate to Montserrat Caballe Hijo de la Luna..
Funny. I always thought this one.

Though I sort of associated Sasha, Anna, and Aliona with the sun, moon, and stars respectively, and thought this could be belong to Anna even better.

This sort of whatifery is meaningless. No, if Alina hadn't backloaded, she would still have won, because Evgeniia would have sneezed during her final spin and splatted on to the ice. If Alina had fallen on her lutz-loop, she would still have won because she would have pulled off a surprise quad that she'd been training secretly. If Alina had stumbled on every jump, she would still have won because so would Evgeniia and everyone else in the competition. If ifs and ans were pots and pans there'd be no need for tinkers.
I’m not using any what ifs here though.
I’m analyzing it exactly as it played out.

The margin of victory was so slim that the backloading was indeed the difference. There are zero what ifs. The bonus points took Alina over the top. It’s a fact.

No, she wasn't giving 100 percent of herself on training - that's what Gleich complained on. And that's a completely different matter than the way she spends her time off the ice rink.
Agree.

But when the coaches are on your behind publicly about your training habits, would‘t a better strategy just be to lay low and not give them fodder, real or imagined? Maybe her way is better, who knows?

My coaches used to tell us, especially after a bad game Friday nights or something, to go have a super fun weekend and get all of that out of our system, because come practice on Monday, there would be nothing easy. I think this is a good outlet. Spending all your time intensely focusing on something even when you’re supposed to be off leads to burnout real quick. Even in Anna’s most recent interview she said if she was to think about her skating 24/7 she would drive herself insane. Periodic lack of focus when it’s not needed leads to better focus when it is needed.

I hope she had a fun day and it helps relieve some of the stress. As for competitions, a seasoned athlete knows one day of fun when you’re supposed to be having fun isn’t going to kill performance unless you’re like… binge drinking or something. Trainers create days off as part of the training process so the body and mind can recover. If she doesn’t do well in France plenty will say “it’s because her day off she didn’t skate” as if that single day would’ve made a difference. And if she does do well in France, then they will say it’s because she didn’t have to compete against harder competition. Detractors will always come up with something wrong.

Have you ever thought that maybe she doesn’t really care what you think? Daniil liked the photos. If she values an opinion it’s going to be his, not yours?

Great post this. Thanks for sharing.

A good perspective and a different way to look at things. This is the beauty of debates and exchange of ideas.

I hope so. I hope she doesn’t value my opinion over Daniil’s. Haha

As for not caring about what me, or others think, I don‘t know her or any other skater personally to judge if they have thick skin or not.
