Another nail in the coffin for Trusova and Khromykh's chances of getting into the final flight of nationals even with Akatieva perhaps not competing (conflicting reports remain on this). Valieva Tuktamysheva Kostornaia Samodelkina Muravyeva Shcherbakova will all defeat Trusova in the short. And if Akatieva does compete...

We can’t say that based on one skate. There is a chance that this skate will never be replicated again. Time will tell.

edit: oh wait, now I see your post wasn‘t meant to be taken seriously. I think. Thanks for confusing me. Haha

True, but also the rules change slightly every year, so it is possible they just didn’t keep track.

Kogan just announced that Russian Cup age eligibility rules will also apply to nationals (despite this not being clearly indicated in the rules), hence Sofia Akatieva will not be allowed to attend nationals. Sofia has already been training a senior version of her program, so that goes down the drain, oh well.
Oh shoot! I was sooo looking forward to see Akatieva competing with the seniors to see where she stands. I guess that means we will have to wait till next year...

With Akatieva and most probably Usacheva gone from nationals, this also means that most likely Gulyakova and perhaps even Sviridenko will qualify.

Let’s say, hypothetically, that Muravyova becomes a player. By what percentage will the Russian ladies drama increase if you have 2 competing camps?

Does the website have enough bandwidth and space if that happens? Haha

That's sad.

So Anna has a new SP? Knew it from her comments in that interview. This season continues to be a mess. (But her jumps are better than ever!)
She mentioned the choreography likely evolving, but I thought the program was to remain. Did she practice a new one today at IdF?

Have to say Anna really impresses me with her artistry this year. I didn’t like her programs much last year because I thought the short was just perfume slapped onto new music, and then the free program literally was slapped onto new music in the 2nd half.

But this year I think Daniil gave her much better programs with a lot more musical relevancy. I do worry the free program is like Medvedeva’s Anna Karenina (sad and tragic) while Kamila the younger challenger has triumphant bolero, like Zagitova’s DQ.

With it looking likelier and likelier that Anna is the only one of the 03-04 trio to make the Olympics, I have to say kudos to her because back in 18 everyone including me said Trusova and Kostornaia were the future and Shcherbakova would burn out with unstable ultra-C

Those unstable ultra-C's from practice today

Sofia M. has been landing the 3A consistently in practice 🤪; She now even practices 3A 3T and Plushenko showed her run through in practice where she attempts this combo as the first element to her free skate. So, I’m assuming the 3A is consistent enough. The 4S, is the one she is more inconsistent with. She has landed it in practice. So, it will be interesting to see how she does tmrw in the free skate.

Dare we call them 3S for next year 😜; These three are my favourite upcoming Juniors from Russia. With Sofia M as my number 1.
Yes that's a great name for them!!:) Unfortunately they will be divided next season as Sofia A will still be a junior, the other two will be senior eligible.
