I agree. Anna now has two golds in the GP Circuit and her free skate only cemented what a champion she is. After the first scary slip…. I thought she was going to have a rough skate. But, like always, she musters this strength to land a 4F and then land all her triples including the 3Lz 3Lo. She is the definition of fighter.
I couldn't believe my eyes when she went for that second 4F. She must be insanely driven human.

And I certainly doesn't look like a fighter for as tough as nails but she is.

I think the most important thing to say is: The ice of France is a total cra... the ISU should prohibit any sport on this surface... Up to a frozen lake in Russia has less water on its surface than that degrace. Today we could see a misfortune but luckily it was not worse.

Anna has the best psychology of all current women, and possibly in history, because keeping the concentration after making 0 points in his best jump and keep jumping knowing the ice of cra... in which he was and also with the risk of breaking a leg or something worse and still continue is worthy of praise.

And finally, what a pleasure it gave me the anger of all those who celebrated their fall in live chat waiting for a total chain of errors and that ending 6th, but no, at the end Anna showed them why she is the only one that can win the Olympic gold medal to Valieva... Swallow your hate, haters.

Plus Anya started 11th - you could see deep holes, cracks and water on your screen... :slink:

In one of your first posts you made it a point to laugh at Liza beating Aliona everywhere she goes for a year. How you handle some push back, not well is the answer. One year wonder yet even some of her worst skating rivals some of Liza's best. Liza's good senior seasons where she still doesn't skate as good as Aliona's worst. Point is that all skaters can struggle a little, Aliona struggling at 18 would have been dream come true performing for Liza in her slump. Aliona's skating was not atrocious last year despite it being much lower than her very high standards either.

Also she landed a 3A in her previous SP skate with a new program? She also skated her Finlandia SP with commitment. No need to rewrite history.
Um, where did I not handle pushback? Liza has her detractors too. Good. It’s their right not to love or like her. I have never gotten upset at them. But Liza and her fans see to always laugh last. I love when her detractors are beside themselves when her scores get “inflated.” Or when her program is called cheap and trashy. Bring on more cheap and trash I say!

You can analyze the numbers any which way. I would rather have Liza‘s career than Alena’s and so would most skaters.

2 WC medals puts her way ahead. And that she is currently better than her only increases that gap. And as a bonus, Liza’s coach doesn’t have to publicly air dirty laundry to motivate her.

It‘s not even a debate head to head between them. At this point at least. We can revisit it in 5 years where the answer may be different.

Lol, but seriously thankful she wasn't injured in that weird fall.

Crazy fact - her TES BV was still higher than Tuktamysheva's at Smate Canada and she was missing a whole element.
It’s F‘N Anna. That explains everything.

Just when I thought I couldn’t respect her more, she finds a way. I wouldn’t count her out even on one skate. Or no skates. Haha

Why celebrate Anna's fall on a chat? Maybe because they hate her coach?

ISU needs events with good ice.

You left out no worlds 2020 when AK
was the best.

Liza will need to better better than 6th at rusnats this year. I mean she finished behind Nugumanova last rusnats and still went to worlds. That wont happen this year.

Key ?s now are how is the health of Liza and Sasha? The third spot will be between them and maybe Aliona and Maya if they peak at the right time.

AK was the best that season. Hands down. Dominated the field. But the competition didn‘t happen so we can’t give her medals she didn‘t win.

And even if we give her a gold, still leaves her a silver short. A silver that was won by taking a spot away from her in a head to head showdown.

But can she stand up to Kamila scoring 250 to 270 points? That will be a challenge. But mentally Anna is the best.
Maybe, maybe not. Kamila is the heir apparent. But, Kamila still has to go out and do it when the lights shine the brightest and she carries the torch as the favorite. Where make no mistake, she is the favorite. And rightfully so.

And if she succeeds, all you can do is applaud and say well done, you are the champion now. Wear the crown with the same vigor as Anna.

I want Kamila to be in career best form, and may the best gal win. I don‘t root for injuries, illnesses or falls.

If it was anyone but Anna, I would say no.

Let me be clear. I like and admire Kamila as well. I listen to bolero on my way to work because of her. Haha

This won‘t be a Medvedeva Zagitova situation with me. Haha

We can never presuppose what would have happened but changing coaches really set aliona back.

Hands down is right on the 2019 and 2020 season. Phenomenal scathing skills and programs and performances for Aliona that season. I don't expect her to make the Olympic team but but I just want to see her skate and happy like she was in France.

A lot of people compare Anna and KV to Evgenia and Alina from 4 years ago. I see some similarities but this is different.

KV never skates totally clean because her programs are too difficult. So maybe there is hope for Anya and others if they are clean and KV is not.

Oops, sorry I confused you. I meant it from a flame war perspective. If Kamila trounces Anna, I wont be heaping scorn on Kamila. Haha

You make a great point obviously. That’s why I discount phrases like “potential scoring.” Medals aren‘t won on paper or on potential. They are won on the ice.
