OMG, Jason must be so thrilled for his fully rotated quad. And his chances for GPF are still good. I did the math because I'm a weirdo and if Semenenko comes in second, he needs to have a score 9 points higher than his PB to qualify over Jason.
Sure, but in my country we have a saying, "Hope dies last." And he does have a chance. If not, I hope he kills it at Golden Spin.I hope Jason makes it, but there are are actually a few scenarios where he could miss out. Since Misha and Evgeni are skating at home next week, I wouldn’t be surprised if they skate well and go 1-2 in some order, with high scores.

He has now officially landed a fully rotated quad with no argument. It will get better. It took me by surprise. I hadn't realized that they relocated it and was shocked when that first jump happened. It was so well rotated, I didn't actually absorb that it was the 4S until the score block came up. Whatever they did to reorganize the program did help. But his emotional content is still not there. It will also get there. Today's overall score was his season's best. He's going in the right direction overall.Although he got negative GOE on the 4S for the two-foot, he actually got full credit for the rotation! So really it’s the best he’s ever done!
ETA kan01 beat me to it!![]()
Folks, has Jason ever medaled in both GPs before?
I don't remember it, but it could be a senior moment.![]()

And how many people said that Jason would never be competitive internationally without a quad. Oh yes he can. And now he's got a quad! He never gave up!This is the first time he's medaled in both GPs. When he made the GPF in 2017 he had a 2nd & a 4th.
Congratulations to Jason on the rotated quad and medal!![]()
I agree. There was something special about that first version. I can't put my finger on what's wrong. It's definitely better than earlier in the season. But it doesn't go as deep for whatever reason. It's not Jason's skating. There is some heart missing. He is doing his best to resonate, but something is missing. We'll see what the next outing looks like. I think if he can find the piece that's missing, it will all come together.I'm very proud of him. I made lots of loud squeaks at a very ungodly hour when he stood up on the 4S and when he hit both 3As.
I'm not going to lie through my teeth to my fellow Jasonites and say that of course the 4S was rotated. It wasn't. Our beloved Jason got an incredible present today, but after some of the gifts this season other skaters have received, I'll take it every day of the week. Or we could view it as karma for that 4T at 2016 Skate America being called UR when it was clean.
I'll be honest: there's no amount of clean jumps that could make me think this version of Schindler's superior to the old. I've come to that conclusion last night. The first version was superior.
I think I want to watch the versions back to back, but I know I miss the little bit with the traditional Jewish dance moment. And how many people said that Jason would never be competitive internationally without a quad. Oh yes he can. And now he's got a quad! He never gave up!

Yes. During that section, he would lift his chin at the judges - it spoke of defiance, strength, you cannot make me die. It was both the defiance in the theme - that the Jewish people would not be destroyed - and the defiance of Jason - that he would not be destroyed. So much told in that small movement.I think I want to watch the versions back to back, but I know I miss the little bit with the traditional Jewish dance moment.
An excellent description.Yes. During that section, he would lift his chin at the judges - it spoke of defiance, strength, you cannot make me die. The new section just does not have the same feeling, to me. I can't see those details any more.
That was so well said. Being Jewish and the daughter of a Holocaust survivor I completely agree with your interpretation. That dance called the hora has survived so many generations and is so meaningful to the Jewish community. I miss Jason's dance and subtle defiance as well. It used to bring me to tears.Yes. Thank you for reminding me what the dance was called. That was so well said. Being Jewish and the daughter of a Holocaust survivor I completely agree with your interpretation. Why would the technical controllers review it and decide to give a present to Jason? They see it from different angles and it was clearly rotated to them or at least more rotated than the second axel who got a q? Why give the quad to him and give a q on the axel? The public seemed to think the quad was under and both axels clean while the technical controllers saw it differently. What makes people think we know better from only one angle than three experts who look at it from multiple angles and in different slow motions? I, for one, trust the specialized staff. Jason also got a ! on the sequence lutz and there was no reason to gift him anything. Jason already has a lot of haters who desperately want to minimize any victory he has, we as viewers only get one angle and even from that angle it looks q at most to my untrained eye.I'm not going to lie through my teeth to my fellow Jasonites and say that of course the 4S was rotated. It wasn't. Our beloved Jason got an incredible present today,
