Lately, she seems to be really into putting stuff all around her eyes. She does not need this. Her eyes are already naturally captivating.I don't know but it sure cannot add anything to the PCS, along with the music, rather opposite, I'm afraid, as I can imagine there must be also a few judges that cannot stand listening to this.. ahem.. music..![]()
I agree. She really needs to focus on the right thing. The makeup and hair are not going to help the scores as much as jumps and programs...Lately, she seems to be really into putting stuff all around her eyes. She does not need this. Her eyes are already naturally captivating.

I think if anyone can pull it off it’s her and if getting ready helps her get “into character” so to speak then why not. Focusing on your makeup for two hours isn’t really going to change an overall bad mindset the way daily training does.I agree. She really needs to focus on the right thing. Last year may have been a skating disaster, but I'm more and more convinced that it has been an gigantic personal growth experience for Aliona.“I don’t want a comeback of THAT Kostornaya. I want to be a new me. New me, she’s different. I want to be back to the best version of myself - much better than what I was previously”.
Eteri answered: “we need to train, Aliona, for real”
It's exactly that.I think if anyone can pull it off it’s her and if getting ready helps her get “into character” so to speak then why not.
I have the same impression. And that's possible because Alyona is so open, outspoken without disrespect and clever, and because the coaches are also open and clever. They have always had discussions about the programs with their most senior skaters but I suppose too, that they have to go beyond now and that it is happening.Last year may have been a skating disaster, but I'm more and more convinced that it has been an gigantic personal growth experience for Aliona.
Growing up always make things more complicated but the person more interesting.
She does not need nor want a teacher: she wants a "personal" coach that can listen to her, motivate her individually and guide her.
She will not trust her just because she's ET (she did that act of faith when she swallowed her pride and come back)
She will trust Eteri because they traced the path togheter and they have a common goal.
She wants a peer relationship with her coach.
That does not mean ET and her team are not supposed to put her in her place and scold her when it's needed but no more "Here at TT with do it that way" but "That's not the way to reach our goal. We need to set the bar straight immediatly"
I think Aliona is a great growing chance for Eteri's too.
Eteri is a great (most probably the greatest) skating "teacher" on the scene. Crystal is an acadamy by every definition: you go in, you adopt the method and the work ethics, you get results in exchange.
That hard, no compromise attitude was salvation for a 15 year old Aliona: that method put her on top when all the work finally paid of
That same method, until now, never worked for anything else than kids rising to stardom and staying at the top until the next marvel comes up.
To work with a more mature mind required building the relationship day by day.
It's not just pushing out, but taking in and pushing out (my english sounds lacking here hope you can undestand the meaning): a continuous exchange.
Aliona will probably not probably win a GPF or a WC in the future, but the level the new Aliona will reach as a competitor and the way she will be able to express herself on the ice as young woman could be a major achievement for Eteri.
Proving to be able to build a working and efficient relationship with an adult skater could be the next weapon in her arsenal.
When we talk about a peer relationship, it's not just a big serious declaration like the one reported by @nussnacker but even an "innocent" thing like teaching back a tiktop dance: it's "I can give something back because you can now understand my passions and be part of it"
Well, I don't think that hair and makeup only take two hours because you have to spend time thinking about that instead of the program or music. Everyone can tell that she wasn't trying to sell the program as much as she should for whatever reason. I think the "whatever reason" is obvious and we've talked about it a couple of times before. She gets disheartened when she makes a mistake, because she's a perfectionist. Of course it's another thing that she should work on, not to get disheartened after making a mistake and stay in the character until the very end, but let's face it, it's very difficult. Not many skaters can do that. (Anna can of course, as she did it after her terrible fall at the very beginning of the FS, but she's a "mental empress"Well, I don't think that hair and makeup only take two hours because you have to spend time thinking about that instead of the program or music. I'm not referring to FS after the fall. Actually I feel the jumps were pretty impressive after the unexpected nasty fall (I even consider the rotation was there and it might be the ice surface that it didn't work). But the performance and the energy. 2019 Russian test, she was not able to do any 3A. But she managed to sell the programs. Like Anna, who was not able to do 4F or 4Lz at the beginning of the season. But she tried her best to sell the programs and everyone can feel her efforts. I get that you would be able to perform as you want if physically not capable (like in skate Canada). But it didn't seem to be the case in IDF. If I remembered correct, neither Anna or Kamila has new gala program (I could be wrong with Kamila). And for her, for god's sake, how many programs we have been talking about now. And it's such critical time, and you really want to distract and just want to be yourself and like "nobody tells me what to do what to say what to be". And you think it's wise decision? In the interview she was talking like she liked the singer, and even did tattoo for the songs. Like where you can tell the love for the song and singer in the performance? That's what I feel frustrated and that's why people are talking that she lost her magic. I really don't see her has the ambition to make the Olympic at this moment and it's such a shame.I think the "whatever reason" is obvious and we've talked about it a couple of times before. But all of these have nothing to do with the make-up, I don't think it distracts her from focusing on her program in any way. And the sheer fact that she was able to pull off the rest of the program clean after that brutal fall from the 3A proves how strong she is. And we should appreciate it!

And? No critique allowed and praise only? Is that a rule for her fans here? well~This is a Fan Fest page.
To answer your question, yes, that is a rule for the fan fests in general. And? No critique allowed and praise only? Is that a rule for her fans here? well~
Fan Fests
The Fan Fest (FF) is a place for fans to celebrate and praise their favorite skaters—not a place to pick apart their technique, skills, etc. As always, be respectful to each other's threads when posting. Keep discussions in the respective threads and do not bring up other skaters with the intent to bash, debate, critique, and/or compare. Keep in mind that even fans of the same skater may hold a diverse array of viewpoints and thoughts.
We met our beloved girl at the airport. Congratulated on a successful performance at the French Grand Prix and reached the final of the series! One of the bouquets has a dog made of flowers
To answer your question, yes, that is a rule for the fan fests in general.

Some happy photos of Aliona:

Oh, do stay! Different view points are always welcome, it's all in how we express them. You're clearly a fan of Aliona's, just feeling frustrated right now, because you want her to make the Olympic team and skate as brilliantly as she did in her senior debut season. She's obviously not back in that form yet, but she's improving, and she's also having fun. Yes, she's learning a lot of new choreography, but at this point, perhaps it's what she needs: she skates her best when she's confident and enjoys the music, so having a new EX that appeals to her and that she relates to may be another stepping stone on the path to becoming the new and better Aliona she wants to be.Thank you for letting me know. Guess I should just get myself out of here
