The IOC/ISU put out a statement a couple of weeks ago exempting minor athletes from the Olympic quarantine if the vaccine in their home country was not approved for under 18s yet.I’m a bit out of the loop in regards to Russia’s counter pandemic measures, but do we know if the Russian ladies have been vaccinated yet at this point? Or are they just planning on going to Beijing early and doing the quarantine?
However, that same day, Russia announced that Sputnik vaccine was approved for 12 and up, meaning all the skaters are now eligible to get it. This means the exemption no longer applies to them. They will have to either get the vaccine or abide by the quarantine period.
