Jason Brown

Speaking of safety, I decided not to attend Nationals. I am so sad about it, but I felt that it's not a safe situation given the rapid spread of omicron. It required 4 different planes and Newark Airport. Hoping to see Jason with SOI this spring. I hope that they can keep the skaters safe in Nashville. They apparently have no bubble in place.

I’m sorry to hear you aren’t going to National’s, Bookseller. I am surprised travelers don’t even need a negative test if flying domestically. I’ve had my booster and I feel safe. After being very ill last winter, I’m just not willing to give up this trip. It may be my last trip to National’s and I want to be there.

Thank you. It was a painful decision, but at my age and circumstances it seems like the best decision for me. Two weeks ago, I was prepared to risk it. But omicron moves fast and I didn't want to risk being sick in Nashville, plus I was headed to Colorado afterwards and didn't want to get sick there either. It breaks my heart to not see Jason skate live, but I will be cheering from my computer. I'm going to do some Zoom chats with family and friends while watching. I'm looking forward to that. Eventually this plague will peter out and hopefully we'll have some years of normal living again and travel. I hope that you have a wonderful time!

Thanks - I hope things change this year too. I want Jason to be able to tour any place he wants.

From Matthew Markell's IG stories, practice competition for Jason (4 seconds of Sinnerman)

If I'm not mistaken, Mattamy Athletic Centre is the old Maple Leaf Gardens? Tracy and Brian using their pull to get fancy practice venues
;)

I'm hoping that they show practices on Peacock. We'll see. They want as few people in there as possible I would imagine.

Jason is asking for donations to the RMHC in Nashville again, in case any of you are interested in donating. I don't think stuffies will be allowed and RMHC probably can't take them anyway.

Safe travels everyone! I will be watching from home, wishing I could have been there, but cheering Jason on loud and clear.

Random quotes about Jason in random articles (Nats is approaching )

From Katie Krafchik, going to her first Nats, mentioning Jason, Nathan and Kamila as skaters she admires:

To name a few, I look up to Jason Brown because I love the way he feels the music and performs, plus he has gorgeous edges....

And Brynne McIsaac commenting on Jason (along with other US skaters) pre Nats:

Jason Brown, 27, the 2015 U.S. Champion and a 2014 Olympian will not challenge Chen and Zhou technically, but he is the most artistic and musical skater. Brown landed his first quad this past fall. “Jason is beautiful to watch,” said McIsaac. “He’s got amazing components.”

That wasn't my point. My point was rather than when, inevitably, Jackie or other reporters in the arena note that Jason is not at first practice, don't panic.

I wanted to go to practices - that was my disappointment.
