2022 U.S. Championships: Senior Women's Short Program

I'm ticked with that obviously manipulated scoring. The judges sure helped out Liu as much as they possibly could. Aside from the obvious error, Liu is nowhere near the basic skater Mariah or Karen are, the arms are incredibly uncontrolled and messy, and the spins are nowhere near the same quality. I'd say we can quite clearly see they've already decided she's making the Olympics, no matter what.

I guess she's hoping to get it down for the Olympics? It might get her in the lead here, but against Kamila, there's no chance.

Well theoretically if she can hit the triple axel in the SP it keeps her close to the podium, ready to take advantage should some others bomb. But has she hit the triple axel clean at all this season? I don't remember...

I think skating last has done a major detriment to Lindsay. She is a fantastic skater, but her performance and telegraphing into the 3F are very evident when compared to the earlier skaters. A very nice clean skate, but missing a certain spark. She's certainly a skater who will develop brilliantly into the future, and her jumps are far more stable-looking than Isabeau's.

Well done, Lindsay! :) She's very technically competent - great jumps and spins - but she really needs to work on the PCS side of her skating. She does not seem to have much connection to the music at all. The program seems very paint by numbers: put arm here, kick leg here, etc. Hopefully she will continue that side of her skating as she matures and develops.
