2022 U.S. Nationals: Senior Men's Free Skate

Come on, Vincent and Jason are practically in a tie for third. Don't think the USFS ignores the actual numbers. I'm not sure Vincent is in the most solid position now.
Being slightly ahead in every metric isn't "practically a tie".

Vincent has better results internationally this season.
He has had higher scores.
He finished higher at nationals.

He isn't going to be left for Jason.

(Not that either has to worry much since I think they take them both)

Oh, to be a fly on the wall in the Selection Committee discussions!
Right.......I'm having Ross Miner Vibes right now, He won the silver in 2018 and they still left him off the team. Personally, Vincent is the skater I don't trust. He can be great and then implode. He lost the free skate to Jason, Nathan, and Illia. I say, he stays home.

I don’t think the decision is hard at all. Chen, Malinin, Zhou. Hard to justify putting Brown on the team imo. Zhou is inconsistent but he could win a medal if he’s clean, that’s just not possible for Brown.
I would agree.

The only pathway for Brown I see is the team free. Zhou bombed out here. Malinin maybe too inexperienced for that kind of extra pressure.

Yaro withdrew?!

Nooooo 😭 Did he test positive?! This is horrible! Poor Yaro! I so much wanted to see him and his Elvis.

My face is sad...

I know everyone loves Jason but this is a sport and the goal of a federation is to send people who can potentially get a medal and that’s never going to be Jason now sadly, even if his skating is sublime.
