It was going to be that way in any event. It wasn't a clearcut decision. And much wailing and gnashing of teeth were heard.

That was a Jason Brown program at some point and a pretty awesome one too!The Room Where It Happens
I think it always was.So nationals was just for show basically
The original projected 3 are going
Nice move USFS go with the older skater who has no chance at a medal instead of the future of US skater.
Thank you for getting the reference. That was a Jason Brown program at some point and a pretty awesome one too!

I don't think they could've sent Ilia there as he had no TES mins last year and I'm pretty sure that was his first year of senior eligibility. (where would you send him in the middle of a pandemic?)If Ilia is so good maybe he should have earned a spot at WC last season like Jason and placed well. Kagiyama was there.
Agree 1000%. Not everyone can jump a quad, but no one else can do what Jason does.Yes. I sometimes wish the question would get turned around. Jason gets vilified for not jumping quads, but very few skaters get vilified for not being able to do what HE does. Very few - if any - of the top skaters could likely execute the complicated choreography that Jason accomplishes. It is why there are TWO sets of marks. In my opinion, they are not particularly fairly weighted.
THANK GOD!!!!!!
We have see it too many times with peak at nationals and then nothing else.

So we're gonna hold it against him that his year of transitioning into Seniors was full of covid cancellations? If Ilia is so good maybe he should have earned a spot at WC last season like Jason and placed well. Kagiyama was there.

At this point it's just a popularity contest.I don’t think many thought Jason should have been left off the team. Instead it should have been Vincent. He has crapped the bed too many times and under rotates his jumps.
Not based on body of work.Poor Ilia....should have gone over Vincent....boooooo
I hear Hamilton. For some reason I'm envisioning an all out brawl in The Room Where It Happens (tm) right now, thus explaining the delay.
