I don't think they could've sent Ilia there as he had no TES mins last year and I'm pretty sure that was his first year of senior eligibility. (where would you send him in the middle of a pandemic?)

Yes. I sometimes wish the question would get turned around. Jason gets vilified for not jumping quads, but very few skaters get vilified for not being able to do what HE does. Very few - if any - of the top skaters could likely execute the complicated choreography that Jason accomplishes. It is why there are TWO sets of marks. In my opinion, they are not particularly fairly weighted.

Agree 1000%. Not everyone can jump a quad, but no one else can do what Jason does.

This was Ilya's Nationals debut. He couldn't have been sent to Worlds last year.

Bwa-ha-hah. Americans, lol. But that confirms my earlier statement that the law of the FS is that any tie with Brown will always be broken in favour of Brown. Except this is not even a tie. Not even a Russian tie. It’s silver vs 4th and zero vs six.

Many competitions were held for minimums such as Challenge Cup and Sofia Trophy

The selection committee followed the criteria exactly as written. Jason and Ilya were both in Group 3 but if you look at the more precise selection criteria Jason was ahead. I believe federations should follow the rules they wrote. Otherwise, it's not fair to the skaters. So, I agree with this decision and I agree with Vincent being on the team even though he should have been off the podium at Nats.
