So next year TT has Sofia A, Alisa D and potentially Dashka S in juniors. Only skater turning senior is potentially Adelia. Is it just me or does that look pretty weak for them (excluding Sofia)?

I don't think it's necessarily weak, just that they don't have the monopoly in juniors anymore like they used to. AoP and Davydov are both doing pretty well right now and if they keep it up, we could see some real competition between the three schools. Imo, it‘s a good thing - having all the talent at one place doesn't tend to work out well in the long run.

So true. Anna really loves figure skating and she's an amazing combination of being as delicate as a flower yet as tough as nails.

I like what coach, former int'l skater Victoria Volchkova's said in her interview few days ago:

- Anya has a quadruple flip. I think she will do two flips in the free program at the Olympics. Plus, she has a lutz-loop combo in both programs in the second half, good bonuses for elements. Therefore, her content is still quite strong too.

— But we are talking about technique. And from a psychological point of view, doesn't Anya have some advantage? After all, we have repeatedly seen what kind of character she has.

— And she's been like this since childhood. It so happened that I had a girl of the same age with Anya, and they simultaneously went through the Moscow's children's championships, novice younger and elder age Russian championships, then the junior championships. That's why I knew Anya since she was very young and I remember well that she always showed her best side. After a short and "elements", the girls were within one point, and then Anka came out — and that was it.

Her character is strong. Any boy would envy such a character. Even if you remember last year's Russian Championship in Chelyabinsk, when Anya did not skate for a long time, she was sick and then how she came out to skate a free… There were really tears in my eyes, goosebumps… You still know this person, even if not so close, so the emotions were amazing. And at this European Championship, she was able to get together after a short and skate free so well, when there was so much negativity towards her in social networks. I think Anya knew about it anyway, but still showed her character.
Anya is the same plus-start that we talked about earlier. To go out and give the maximum at the right moment is about her. Plus, of course, she already has fighting experience — she has won Grand Prix stages, Russian and World championships. When people have such character and experience… Well, not people, more precisely, athletes… They, of course, have an advantage at the Olympics.

As for the question about Maiia, only one sub was allowed to go to Krasnoyarsk in each category (=Liza in ladies). Sofia A. and Adeliia received an exception by FFKKR because they would have been coachless and are still preparing for junior worlds (Adeliia as a sub.) but Maiia was apparently considered too experienced by FFKKR to be on her own for a time :(

The alternate situation makes sense, the junior thing does not, on top of the isolation situation for covid, supposedly Daniil was in Moscow most of last week so they would not have been completely coachless

Amazing and accurate words from 1 of my favorites from 15 years ago VV. She understands Anna very well and what she has to offer. I think people forget because Anna is such an artistic skater that she has super high scoring programs because of the difficulty in them.

I guess he was isolated, something a like a back-up coach if Eteri or Sergei were positive so he was not in contact with anybody.

Why on earth would they allow to take photos with the captains who don´t wear mask when they are about to enter the most important experience of their life? They have come so far with negative tests...This is so frustrating.

And it makes me wonder if the crew there except the stewardess didn´t use a mask during the whole flight, and even the mask she uses on the photo is of the lowest qualify. The whole bubble in the pre-olympic camp is meaningless when the crew don´t protect themselves better. Let´s just say that I hope everybody never removed their mask during the whole flight.

Complete change in the talks about Maiia. She actually WAS in Krasnoyarsk!

Vids from training, geoblocked, though Maiia included. So she wasn't an orphan. And she was the one who took this picture...

At least they didn't fly!!!

Who is this Kogan dude? I have been freaking out about this fellow and I actually have no idea who he is!!! I've just been worried he'll catch the plane and breath on the girls🤣😅
To be honest they would probably not be allowed to do that, I guess they just claimed that because they/he thought that would test negative in time... I don´t know why Kogan was in such denial though about the positive test. I guess I would also hope for a false positive but it´s a difference between hope and complete denial in the public

And I have no clue who he is btw.
