By the way, it's rather strange that the skaters' training yesterday took place very early in the morning - at about 4 o'clock local time. Not only for Anna, for Loena, for example, the same.

My guess would be covid rules allowing fewer skaters training on the ice at the same time led to extended training hours in the moonlight.

That’s why the Russian championships will continue to be the premier event in figure skating for the foreseeable future.

Between the stupid quotas, the proposed age requirements and the witch hunts, the people that run this sport are always on the wrong side of things.

This is one of the few sports that doesn’t want their best athletes competing while they are in their prime. Sad.

this whole situation is heartbreaking, and I wish it were somehow all not true. I hope Kamila is being comforted by the adults around her right now, poor girl must be absolutely devastated. I'm still holding onto the hope that this was all a mistake and that Kamila will not be punished, but it seems unlikely that this is the case.

The absurdity of your comment, I love that you can’t seem to grasp that where there is smoke there is 🔥.

More like Eteri’s empire is falling and you can’t accept it. Again you trying to defend that camp is disgraceful. It’s proven now that cheating occurs. Victims here are the girls. Irina Rodina is already blaming Kamila like wtf .

gentlemen and ladies from the international team of vultures! Hold on to your gloating at least until any decisions are officially announced. Otherwise, even the US-controlled WADA is still silent.

You still have time to show your false "regret for the poor girls." For now, have pity on your favorites, who cannot even perform the elements that were available to Medvedeva six years ago. Pity Simone Biles, who has been using legalized doping for many years, and all of you were only happy. She has such a natural, feminine physique, doesn't she? There was no doping, of course.
Also what is up with the Evgenia hatred . Get over it . She’s not competing anymore . Goodbye

Even if this turns out to be all untrue, which I am desperately hoping for it to be, I would still feel bad for the situation she's in right now. So much stress, uncertainty, and pressure on her. She must be feeling so much anxiety rn and this shitshow can't be good for her if she were to be able to compete in the individual event.

Greatest camp of all time with GOAT skaters.
They don’t need me defending them anyway.

You can have irregular drugs results for a billion reasons. Plus nothing is official, and I am guilty of speculating without having all the facts as well.

The only thing that will change my mind, is not the propaganda campaign against them, which has been intense for a few years now, but if it is proven (not alleged by the same media and fans that are part of the propaganda campaign) that they gave Kamila drugs without her knowledge. That will be pretty f’ed up and inexcusable.

There is a very good chance this is being blown way out of proportion anyway. Let’s wait for the facts before castigating anyone.

Just do not drag the war you want to lead here. The topic about the issue was not closed just for a reason to bring it elsewhere.

As someone born and raised in the USA, I learned my lesson about the politics of drug testing in my teenage years.

After the Ben Johnson incident, the American press was going on and on about their athletes being clean until it emerged that Carl Lewis had his failures covered up. Or Agassi admitting in his book years later that the ATP covered up his positive meth test so he avoided suspension.

But it’s a lot easier to subscribe to the “Good Americans” vs “Evil Russians” storyline which sells. People don’t care much for nuances, especially in a sport 99.9% of Americans know nothing about.

does kamila have a heart problem? since i heard that what she might have taken if true in december is a medikament for the heart? in which a substance is used that will show up in a drug test?

and with if true i mean since we do not have offical confirmation as of now and dont know for sure if it is kamila but if it is then sorry but what the heck were eteri and the adults up too? it also reflects on her other skaters as well

There have been so many inconsistent reports already (i.e. it was a pairs skater then it was Kamila, it wasn't a PED but now it is, etc.) that I don't think we can have a meaningful discussion until the facts are laid out. It does look like that the failed test was from an out-of-competition sample in December, so I'm not sure to what extent that impacts the Olympic results (especially if the out-of-competition sample contained a non performance-enhancing substance).

I think he was actually praising Evgenia by saying that someone's favorites (whoever that may be) still can't do today what Evgenia was doing 6 years ago. In no way am I endorsing the rest of the post, some of which I strongly disagree with.

This. I just hope this is something that was a medication that caused a misunderstanding. I hope it comes out as something not serious. They still worked their butts off for this. I hope this is finalized soon as I want the team event medal ceremony to happen. Rumors are rumors and once facts are there, then we’ll know.

Someone pointed out in another thread that the drug could also be used as a PED, which is the case with at least another heart drug as well.
