2022 Olympics: Men's Free Skate

Nice skate for him, and he's leaving with at least a silver. Nathan does have a bit of room between the SP lead and Yuma's small mistakes.

I am just so happy Uno medaled. His 4th place finishes were a bit sad. I still think I liked 2018 Olympics better. I had no idea what it took to get into the games for the athletes back then, had no idea who was who… and there was so much joy vs right now.

Yuma! Not as good as the team event. But, good enough to take lead in free skate and overall. Good job! This will put pressure on Nathan. Shame on 2S. Good enough for at least silver.

KAGIYAMA Yuma (JPN)

Wonderful skate from Yuma! Apart from that shaky 4Lo (maybe q but review looks good), everything else had fantastic, sweeping landings. Glorious 4S to open, then that 4Lo before getting it back for the 4T, 3A+2T. Only a 2S in the 4T+1Lo+2S combo, a 3F+3Lo, and 3A to finish. He has such strong edgework through the steps and speed through the ending choreo. He doesn't have as much maturity as some of the other top skaters but the cleanliness of his technique is superior tonight. It should easily go into 1st place after this!
