Kamila Valieva: Anti-doping Case and Follow-ups

That's interesting. So during this entire time period from Russian nationals till a few days ago,
no one in the Russia or Eteri's school has been notified of the test results, while they keep competing and looting slots?
yes because they just recieved the result on Dec 8. an unusual timing if u ask me.

Your advice is suitable for criminals trying to stay off public radar, not for the most regarded and beloved coach in figure skating.
You're talking about her criminal court tactics, I'm talking about her relations with public opinion and fans.

She owes explanation to all the people who respect and adore her (like myself).
I don't think she owes anyone anything except for her skaters. She certainly owes them something and has failed them.

Eteri is losing my respect by making Kamila face the journalists alone. She's there as a guardian of a minor and she should be protecting her ward.

I can't imagine how Kamila must be feeling right now. I hope RusFed are not forcing her to train if things are affecting her mentally. I know that, even as an adult, I would want to go home in her situation but I'm not an elite athlete.
She was not alone, she was with Trusova and Shcherbakova. The only thing she had to do was continue on her path, ignoring the stupid questions asked by the Western press. Or do they think that because an adult member of the team would be there the press would shut up...

The good thing was that the Russian journalists put the fake-journalist in his place.

Why not? She will be 19 and there will be no 15yo or 16yo skaters.
Moreover, I'm pretty sure the ban will be quite short, she may even be back next season.
That is IF the ISU changes the age limit.

As it stands Kamilla, realistically will not compete at the next Olympics. She'll be 19 and Eteri will have new 15 year olds to push for gold. Unless her body does not change during puberty, I don't think Eteri will continue with her, who was her oldest skater lately? Evgenia?

I wish Kamilla can have a full senior career, but in Russia it's very hard to keep on going when there are so many new rising skaters.

If Kamilla manages to keep her form after puberty, she'll be UNSTOPABLE

Apparently you are jumping into conclusions without the knowledge that what we all know officially. Rusada (the Russian anti doping organisation) tested the skaters after nationals on 25th of December. They sent the samples to an internationally certified lab in Stockholm, Sweden for analysis. That lab revealed the results on 8th of February, this Tuesday. Rusada immediatly suspended Valieva. After a hearing they lifted the suspension a day after (Wednesday). The IOC and Wada are appealing Rusada's decision and the case is now in CAS hands. That's what we know. Nothing else.

and the rest in between this official posts are a mix of conspiracies, speculations and rumors. should I say part slander. good thing is Kamila is a minor so she can't sue.

No need to play the blame game, we're all understanding what's going on as we go,
at least I'm interested to know more when I find something out that I didn't realise, like that an
organisation like RUSADA doesn't need to alert a Russian skater that they're under scrutiny as they keep
going out to compete, which I find very intriguing.

As long as a banned substance was found in your system, there must be an inquiry about it
and you would need to take a cooling period from participating in competition, not necessarily get banned.
with this I have no issue. Although there can be also things like conditional suspension etc.

That is the task of journalism: to ask question, to constitute the Fourth Estate in order to counterbalance the power of authorities and never let anyone even try to shut it up...

What I find interesting is that this was not really an "out of competition" sample taken. There was no element of surprise for her to have to give the sample.

This is interesting for a few reasons.

Assuming she was given the drug:

1. Did they not understand or forget that RUSADA had to send the samples abroad? Did they think it could be covered up if she tested positive of something? RUSADA has been sending samples abroad since the beginning of 2020 so I don't think this would be the case but who knows.
2. When would they cycle on and off the drug? Surely the off season, pre-worlds... but I think every other time period would be kind of dangerous. Would the cancelling of the GPF encourage them to cycle back on?

They're going to try to make the claim that this was accidental ingestion.... so I wonder how many out of competition samples were taken from her. It wouldn't make a lot of sense to pass many out of competition tests and then fail an in competition one. But I don't think this logic will work as Sports.ru from time to time lists people who have had out of competition samples taken and for the ones who are test it's usually only once a year. It would be curious to see how many and how often Tutberidze's skaters were tested out of competition. I do remember Anna being on the list. (I'm going to look this info up).

I still don't know what you mean. All skaters are always under scrutiny as they get tested all the time.

but you're saying the Russian federation and Eteri's team weren't aware of the banned substance
being found in the athletes system between it's discovery on Dec 25th until just a few days ago
when this blew up, not all skaters are discovered with banned substances, she was under specific scrutiny.

It will be raised. Who wants the status quo?
