I have a question for those who said that Lisa should have gone instead of Anya. And now Anya OС!
Well no one is a fortune teller, but i do think Liza could've won the SP here and finished on the podium
Honestly, I really hate that there were all these cameras showing this backstage drama live to the whole world, these girls deserved to have a few minutes of privacy to sort out their feelings after all the doping drama and the relentless pressure they have been under for years.

Actually, I wouldn't put it past Trusova to go abroad. She has loads of ambition and loads of courage. She could do very well with someone like Arutunyan.. as long as they saw eye to eye
The messed up thing is that Eteri still is probably Trusova's best shot at a major gold, because she needs her quads and only Eteri can get her consistency to the level of being able to pull them off reliably. Although things will be a bit awkward now. Losing is hard, and she needs time to process this and that reaction to losing will be remembered.
She should be very proud of what she produced but she needs to take responsibility for errors (the 2A+3T and 4T) and decisions she made (3A in the SP) which resulted in her silver. And she should be very fortunate to get 70 PCS for that jump fest, and the marks reflecting her jumping and not overall skating.

Trusova's Interview after her performance:
"I am happy that I did 5 quads. You saw the results, you know it. I am happy with the results, but I am not happy with myself.

why am I crying? because it is already 3 weeks that I am without my mom and my dog. that's why I am crying".
Actually, there is a clip of her saying she won't go to the medals without Valieva so it is partially about that.

mfw I'm getting flashbacks to me rooting for Guan Chenchen to win the Tokyo balance beam gold because then her abusive Chinese coach will FINALLY be satisfied enough to retire (it was obvious we were not going to get rid of him any other way). I guess I can be happy that Anna can now retire from skating (wow, what a statement about a skater one really likes). If only Eteri could also be placated with (1) ogm...
But things need to change. Who in their right mind can sit there with their popcorn and enjoy this or speak like they know. Some of you are so cold. (Not you, but from what I've read)I beg to differ on thatwe've seen some lows.
Also for the most part the Women's were mostly on great form here tonight

Sasha scored almost 71 points for an jump orientated skate. The PCS are really not to blame. Anna may have her issues as well, but I´m actually happy that Sasha´s approach of "I just want to jump and don´t care for anything else" wasn´t successful. I hope she finds a coach that can convince her that skating is more than jumping.

I would've loved to have seen a Trusova win here but I think a 5 point difference in PCS between her and Anna
is more than fair, also she lost a number of GOE opportunities

I don't yet know if I watch or not, because I have volunteering jobs on Thursdays and tomorrow is pairs I did look at the results and maybe watch some skaters or groups, but I will decide later.
I am not sure if we will see Jenni Saarinen anymore at big competitions, because there are so many juniors with better technical content and they will be age eligible even if the age limit will be raised to 16. There is still Worlds, but we can see who will go.
Congratulations to Anna. I had 2/6 exactly correct on my predictions, Anna and Kaori. I think I should at least see them and some others.

Bless Kaori she's as happy as a clam in her interviews!!! I love that she's living out her full Olympic dream despite all the drama.
She had one, EP, and under him her PCS did show more promise but then she reverted.

Not a monster a trainer.
Probably a trainer is a situation she does not know how to manage.
Eteri the team and the fed probaly called in any possible favor and gone the extra mile to let her skate (even if I doubt it was for Kami's benefit but primarily for their own), so she wanted her to ride the wave and fight but Kamila was empty from a long time.
She did the Short on autopilot and since she's above outstanding she managed to win it but there is no Free skate on an empty tank.
Do you remember whe Eteri showed Kami the phone with her clearance to skate and she reacted witha feeble "hurra" and turned her back?
IT was over already.
Nice try from Eteri to call her back "That's it? I expected more reaction" but there was nothing to do.
I trained cycling for a bit (young kids so Valieva's age) you can work on Enthusias and Hunger (both very easy) you can manage overconfidence and despair (difficult), but "I don't care" if it's not a cover to hide your real feeling is a nightmare.
It requires times and lot of talking, better with some external input to restore.
I was a racer before being a trainer and I decide to quit in a moment: that moment was when the question "WHY?" (all that sacrifice, all that sufference in training) had no answer.
Today Kamila, after all she's been trough had no why to fight a bad skate, and most probably no real reason to be on the ice except because it was expected from her.
She needs to find that why to train hard each day and become a new better version of her, but it won't be easy unless until she gets some answers about what happened to her

Now that I've had time to process it, I wonder if it was everything.
Her losing despite 5 quads, Kamila being devastated, not being picked for the team event, whatever shady stuff she knows about the school that we don't know.
It all built up and she went off!
