I'm happy for Ashley! I think she has a bright future. But it's too bad that Caroline had a poor short-I didn't get to watch it but we know she can do better. Don't write her off just yet.

Yes, but there's a key factor there Michelle Kwan. Until Michelle, Nationals I believe was actually kind of tough to repeat.

I hope not. I love Mirai, but I feel for Yu-na and Mao not being able to go to the Olympics in 2006, when both could have possibly done quite well.

Besides Mirai and Caroline do have their weaknesses. Thrilled though that Mirai is now firmly out of Zhang's shadow. I think she's more talented, she needs a better jumping coach though. Maybe Frank Carroll?

You could be right. Charlene Wong, Canada's No.2 when Liz Manley was no. 1 was hardly a jumper. She was in the first generation of Canadian stalking jumpers, who set the precedent for Kathyrine Kang and many others, who have been struggling in international competitions.

Zhang and Nagasu

Zhang is a back contortionist-period. Her jumps are small and immature, her skating skills are slow. Nagasu is the whole package, including speed, jumping ability etc. Bebe has moments of brillance-powerful jumps, great speed, wonderful choreography-if the day ever comes where she puts it all together, she would be unbeatable.

Alissa, Kimmie, Emily are done and need to move on, their efforts are becoming embarrassing to watch.

YuNaKim and Mao are light years ahead of all of the American skaters, but perhaps Nagasu will challange in a few years.

I had a feeling Ashley had this tough nerve in her. Her jump content in this SP can rival Miki Ando with 3Lutz+3loop.

Ando has a true lutz, so Ashley can't rival Ando.
