Ladies' Free Skate

I'm officially cheering Jenni Vahamaa. She is brilliant. I know, she doesn't have perfect jumps yet but I'd take her smooth skating and musicality over 9704970537 triple axels. I can't wait to see her grow and improve. She might become the most sucessful lady from Finland.

Aw, it's too bad Sarah had such a crappy short. She could've won. :frown: Anyway, way to go Sarah! I think she's such a lovely skater.

A big WOW to Sarah, she was brilliant. She could have won had she hit the SP.
Huge congrats to Lepisto for being one of the 2 ladies who tried the triple-triple. I think it won her that bronze!
Great competition today!

It's a shame Jenni didn't skate in the last group, because the scores of all of them were soooooooo inflated. She did a great job of bouncing back from her short. Can't way to see how she develops.

I also enjoyed Lepistö as well. She's sooo smooth and everything she does is of such high quality. Hope she can get the harder jumps. Congrats to her ont he medal.

Caro was meh.

Sarah is not my favorite skater but she had the best LP tonight.

Kiira was way overmarked, as was Granny.

Is it just me or the finnish ladies were a little overscored ?

Way to go Sarah !

I'm a bit late, but except vahaama (lovely!) finnish girls overscored! Yulia deserved third place...

Seriously guys, I don't get all the hype about lepisto....she even had a fall!!

Checking the pdfs i don't understand two things: why did kostner get level one for her spiral? she doubles the lutz and gets minus goe....lepisto does the same and she doesn't...uhm how strange...Kostner just bombed the lutz and last spin, but the rest was high quality, even the spins, but how strange she got just one level 3 while she should have gotten it in all the three she hit.

She was really hurt in the tech in these championships. Judges were ready to crown lepisto if she hadn't fallen (how strange, next euros are in Finland!)
I feel bad for Sarah, but good fighter, she's always there when it counts. In my opinion Meier and Kostner are sooo in another league neither the finnish could aspire to get to, and it's not correct they ogt awfully close...

I am glad beep_beep has recognized that as well.

I see Granny as a rather cute nickname though. She did great, she was proud.

Elena did good too. She could have placed higher if she hit that SP.

Julia popped half her jumps, had a scratchy landing in one of her triples and a hand down on her double axel. Lepistö rotated one more triple and had better spins, steps and spirals.

Congrats to all the medalists!!:clap::clap:

I enjoyed Sarah and Lepisto most.

Lepisto has that natural grace in her and I wish she could master triple lutz and flip, hope it's not too late for her.

Sarah was brilliant and I hoped she could win over Carolina.

Not that I don't like Carolina, but as I watched her skate, I became so mad that she just couldn't hold herself together!!! (though her first jump combo was exquisite.)
I just feel that I can't expect more from her, it's truly exhausting. I lurve both of her programs this year, and I'm just mad she couldn't deliver them decently and let me appreciate her skate.:banging:
